No, this is a misunderstood myth. I talked to a priest about this subject. Anyone who has held their newborn baby in their arms and looked into their eyes will know that babies are a gift from God and therefore must go to heaven. (Huge run on sentence, but I don't feel like trying to fix it!)

Well, isn't it all a myth?

Are you asking if heaven is a myth, or purgatory? Sounds like your trying to stir up a little quarrel. But no, heaven is not a myth. Just take a step outside, or look at your children, and think about every tiny little thing that has to happen just right in order for 1 small human body to work. Or for one little bird to be able to fly. Theres millions of things that have to happen.
Believing that there is no God is nonsense, all of these things couldnt just happen on accident, then work out so nicely. Its like throwing a baseball in the air, and hoping that it causes an explosion that sparks an entire new universe...........exactly, impossible.
If you do want to believe that there is no God or heaven, then thats fine, i wish you didnt, but its not any trouble to me.
Not really any point in living if theres nothing to look forward to after you die!

I would have to say if there is a heaven any one pure in innocence would be welcome. (like the story of adam and eve, when they were innocent of the fact that what they were doing was a sin it wasnt a sin, the apple of knowledge or whatever brought awarness of sin, actually turning it into a sin.)
So purity through innocence In my mind would gaurantee a spot in heaven if it exists. no god could call itself a true god if it were to damn the truly innocent.

I have no idea if there is a god or a heaven. If there is, I hope everyone will be there. I live my life to fullest, if there is no heavan I am fine and will have no regrets. I don't need a belief in god or heaven to have something to look forward to, each new day is all that I need to be happy.
How do we know that this isn't heaven?

What about those who are mentally disable and commit crimes and do wrong? There are states in our fine country who will execute them, will god forgive them? In many cases they are naive and lack the facilities to understand their actions. These types of questions are really interesting.

also I would say the same would have to apply to the mentally handicapped with the innocence of a child. everything they do (the baby and the handicapped) is right as they know the world. as awareness adjust to knwoledge of right and wrong you then get judged by your decisions. Or if I were god thats how it would be.

We know this isnt heaven because there are killings, depression, and pain here, of which there will be none in heaven.
And I do not know if mentally handicapped people are held responsible for kkilling people. Thats why im not God, and dont want to be.
I personally have no idea, because peoples minds are so complex, how do we know that they do or dont know its wrong.

Well, as far as I am concerned this is heaven because for all I know this is all there is and I am gonna enjoy it! Perhaps if I was born in a third world country and barely eeked out an existence, perhaps then I might have a different view.

In my mind its pretty simple all the mixed faiths aside,
do not kill, do not steal, do not cause pain. these are simple things that every man/woman of every faith or no faith can embrace. in the end we will all know, there isnt much point in arguing about it while we are here. just live your life like a decent person and it'll all work out in the wash.
I figure if there is a god he made me the way I am for a reason. I make the best choices I can (and if he's omniscent then he obviously knows what I am going to do before he ever created me) then he can damn me for doing what he knew I was going to do when he made me the way I am, or not.
if there isnt a god then I am still leaving life on a good note by not being a complete piece of crap.
I'm here, now, and when I get there I will worry about there.
If a god needs my worship then its not a god. in my mind gods are perfect they should have no needs wants or other lackings. if a god wants, its lacking and its not a creature I would worship. if its perfect then it doesnt need my worship.
over all God and I have reached a compromise, I dont ask him to solve my problems, he doesnt ask me to solve his. so far he hasnt asked me to solve any of his problems so I figure its working.

That's well said! I think the problem with the Christain god is that it was created in the image of man when man wrote the bible.

A world that spins on an axis that never slows down? A world that stays in an orbit with a sun that if closer by a mile would burn up, if further by a mile we would freeze to death? No coincidence there.
Look around If there is, I hope everyone will be there. Why? God created Heaven and Hell, both for specific reasons. Do you believe Hitler should be in Heaven?
I live my life to fullest, if there is no heavan I am fine and will have no regrets. You mean you live with free will granted to you by God. God respects your choice whatever that may be.
I don't need a belief in god or heaven to have something to look forward to, each new day is all that I need to be happy. What about the new day that brings Cancer? Financial disasters? Family deaths? Catastrophic situations?

How do we know that this isn't heaven?
If this is Heaven, then Hell must really suck! On a serious note, God is very clear that Heaven is without pain and sorrow. That's all this world is

Good topic and I respect your view Jmick.

Before 2007 in march i believe babies who werent baptized and were killed went to a place called "Limbo". But in late march I believe Pope benedict the 16th had "Canceled" this theory.
However I my self believe they go to heaven, how ever a special heaven for children.

Renogaw, I have to ask you a question. You have made it clear to myself and others before that you had no religion. You have said in prayer posts, that you do not pray, but send best wishes. Why are you asking all of these religious questions now?
