Dumbest thing you dropped in your tank?

Well nothing has been dropped in yet, but when I was draining my old fw to make way for sw, the siphon hose popped out of my sink
, and a good 30 gallons of water went into my floor, caused leaks for hours (thank god my parents did not find out)

I love it when your sitting there watching tv and you notice the waterline on the fuge is steadely getting lower...lower...lower...after a paniced search for the cracked seam i thought it was i found a nice little hose steadely flowing out the back.
Should I be worried that that side of my 90g tank is the lower lop-sided side by about an inch?

2 damsels. Had to take out every piece of rock and then still had trouble trying to get them out.

I've done the hose thing during a wc. I pump the new water from a 15gal bucket to the tank. I secured(at least I thought) the hose through the bracket on my ph. The phone rang and when I returned in just 2-3 minutes, the hose had slipped out on the floor. I only lost a couple of gallons, but my particleboard stand now looks like a rollercoaster and have to replace it before I can afford my 125gal upgrade. Hate to spend the money on another stand, but its leaning and worrying the crap outta me! :scared:

Just a tip on the new stand waterproof it, using shower liner you can get at HD or Lowes and seal the seams and corners with white or clear caulk

Having a little growth problem? :notsure:
Xenia may become bad for me because it's growing pretty darn fast!

I dropped my light fixture in about a month ago. I was putting it back on the tank after doing a water change and it slipped and went in the tank. Of coarse the end with the plugs and ballast would get wet but surprisingly it didn't hurt anything and didn't blow the fuse and it still works.

I should of known better to begin with, but tried to cut cost by buying a used tank when I was setting this up. Good idea but this was outside the stand. I thought of sealing the next one with a water sealer for the panels. I have a metal stand for the 125gal.

Yep that is how I get my credit at the fish store. Right now it's coming from my neighbors tank but it will be coming from mine too if the growth continues. I guess I will have to shop it around at some other local stores.

well of course there is this guy in the picture. went snorkelling and found a few micro hermits, snails, a fighting conch and this cute little crab. after a few months, he grew to about 5 times his initial size and my crabs started dissapearing! he even ate my lawnmower blenny! he turned out to be a florida stone crab! and he knew we wanted to catch him because he made us take ALL of the rock out to finally catch him. he was easily 4 inches long! the one remaining veteran invert is an emerald crab with one claw. he has yet to regenerate the other one after 7+ months.
then of course one time i had left to get some water for a water change and came back to find my roomy on the ground after he electrocuted himself with an air pump (LFS had us use one, dont anymore.) while i was laughing i had to put my hand in the tank for something and forgot that i was holding a $100 cigar lighter... it still doesnt work right even getting sent back to the manufacturer

My daughter put a Potted Plant under my lights & it was knocked into my tank. I watched it sink as the dirt came out hitting my rocks.... An instant dose of phosphates
Needless to say it was like a 2 year nightmare of fighting algae in that tank & large water changes did nothing. Pulling all the rock every 3 months to clean them and trying to get the dirt out. I would have bought new rock but it was my 300g tank with 350 pound of rock....

A full freshly opened beer, I tried to grab it as I knocked it off my lights that only shook it up worse so more sprayed into the tank. fortunatly it was a 20g (way back when) so it was easy to do three 90% water changes to clear it out. didnt' lose anything.
