........“If Google included people who challenged that debate, they would be wrong to do so,” said Matthew Nisbet, an associate professor for the School of Communication at American University and one of the 21 Google Science Communication Fellows..........

I find it interesting that;
1. If no one challenged the debate would it still be a debate?
2. Interesting that Professor Nisbet is an associate professor for the School of Communication and is squashing communications if people challenge in a debate.

Except how to drive. Where the oil goes, and when the car engine smoking don't keep driving.

Bad drivers are mostly the old folks and teens of either gender. We know where it goes we just don't want to get dirty...we drive to a safe place to break down if at all possible so we can avoid being attacked. Sometimes the crazy killer gets us anyway, but we do keep going so we don't break down where no help is available.
Slice...what is that and what is FSM?

I've always wanted one of those flying spaghetti monster ichthys, but I have the feeling that someone would destroy my car for displaying that.

See, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWc5yIaEzZ4 for an animal acting out of "reason" rather than "instinct", whatever those are. Psitticines have the very same Broca's region in their brains that you have in yours, where speech is controlled, so there goes communication too.
Why do you think there are no fossilized remains that tie man to our ancestral forms. Take a look at the Museum of Natural History site, for example.
Like most scientists, I haven't spent any time trying to prove theories - I can't. But everlasting fame would be mine if I could disprove evolution.
I owned several talking birds and have yet to have one verbalize a want or need, let alone carry on a conversation with a human or another bird in any form. Where's the "missing link". If we evolved from a lower life form surely there are fossils tying us to them?

Your missing link....

We do not need a missing link. The fossil record should be looked at more like a bonus in the realm of evolution rather than a foundation.
In any case Darwinius masillae! Be careful when you google it. It DOES NOT prove evolution, although I'm sure half the sites you find will claim that. It is a really interesting thing to read about though. This is the picture I've always seen.
Lets see if I can post a picture...

Interesting that all of the sites that are out to debunk Ida are primarily christian or religious. Agree there is already more than enough evidence from the fossils we do have to show a rather convincing picture.
And if you think about it, is our behavior really that much different than the rest of the animal kingdom? Sure we have civility and some of us the ability to rationalize. But IMO so do many animals. Do we not war over territory and resources just like the animal? I know my dog is pretty good at verbalizing to me when she needs to go outside or wants a treat. She may not be able to carry on a convo in english but when most of your communication is done through body language and or barking, then who needs english?
Anybody ever seen video of killers whales hunting? Or hear whales communicating? How about an octupuss figuring out how to take the lid off of a jar in order to get the harring out that was inside of it. What about 2 male lions facing off without having to fight to the death once dominance has been established. I suppose there is no rationalization in any of that.

If there are these fossils I doubt they would be of something with a brain the size of a birds.

What creature besides man is known to kill for sport?

I actually caught this on a documentary on t.v. The whale actually tossed the seal around multiple times when the seal was already dead. Why?
Lions killing for reasons other than a meal.
I'm sure there are more examples out there. When I was a kid we used to have a cat that would kill birds, bit the heads off the birds and then leave the uneaten bodies on our front porch.

Reef, here's a better video of those whales with that seal.
I'm also reminded of a time years ago when a buddy of mine and I stopped by his house after work. He had two pitbulls that he raised from pups, they were from the same littler so they were brothers. He didn't raise them to fight or be killers. They did like to wrestle and play rough alot. Anyway, when we got there we found that one of the dogs had killed the other one. it wasn't for food since he kept them pretty well fed. But yet the one dog was standing over the dead one with his head held high and tail a waggin as if he was pretty damn proud of himself. Is this the kind of sport you are talking about...something to fuel the ego perhaps or brag about what you've done? What other reason is there?
