I'm sorry, but those songs are the result ot true classic rock influences. KOHD is a cover of the Bob Dylan original.
Now, let's show some love for the Allman Bros. Band!
AMEN!!!
aparently there needs to be some classification of genres!!!
but it could be me getting older and seeing someone classify G N R (who in the day was the rebirth of heavy metal) or U2 (who in the day was refered to as "post modern") as "classic rock" that kinda gets to me...
i dont have a favorite "classic rock" song... but almost anything by Zepplin, Queen or Sabbath...

I listen to everything from the 60's to today and I love all of the bands previously listed, but off the top of my head, left out so far were: Heart, George Thurogood(sp), Bob Seger,ZZ Top, Dire Straits, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Supertramp, Thin Lizzy(Boys are back in town) and Jefferson Airplane(White Rabbit is a classic)!

Supertramp-the logical song, breakfast in america
Jefferson Airplane white rabbit and somebody to love (cabel guy) are great the who-Baba O'Riley (teenage wasteland), behind blue eyes
queen-under pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody
off the top of my head if u cant jam or get inspiration from those songs something is wrong with you

I dont really know the difference between 70's 80's rock and classic rock, but I love:
anything by Journey, Styx, queen, pink floyd, led zepplin, the who, the beatles...or is it beetles..I always forget.
Other bands then those I usually only like 2 or 3 songs, I have never heard a single song from one of them that I havent liked.
One of the greatest songs ever...'while my guitar gently weeps'

I would not group bands such as GnR or Bon Jovi in as classic rock and DEVO is not even close to holding a candle to the great bands of the past . But we "old folks" need to keep in mind that GnR ,Jovi, Posion, Motely crue and even metalica are all bands that are well over 20 years old already and I guess that could make them classic rock in a way . Even house of pain with the hit jump around is coming up on the big 20 in a few years. Misfits are in that 20 plus area as well. the thing is what us in the old age brackets concider classic rock will soon be "OLDIES" and the newer generation of rock will be classic rock and there will be a whole new genere of rock bands out there paving the way .

wow, a classic rock thread and i dont think i saw anyone mention BOSTON. shame.
thats because they had one song that contained different tempos and lyrics... in other words... all of their songs sounded exactly the same!!! same with Bad Company...

LMAO. you can say that for almost any band. when you have a band that has their own style and sounds so much different than most other bands their songs do tend to sound alike. thats what gives them their OWN sound.

I'd include Foreigner and Journey in that crowd as well.
