CALL TO ACTION: Ammunition Sales Restrictions Scheduled to be Heard Next Week!Share

Ammunition Sales Restrictions Scheduled to be Heard Next Week
Please Contact the Assembly Committee on Appropriations Today!
Assembly Bill 962 is scheduled to be heard by the Assembly Committee on Appropriations on Wednesday, May 6.
Sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.
Please contact the members of the Assembly Committee on Appropriations TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose AB962!!! Contact information for the committee can be found below.

While the pig flu is stealing headlines, actions are being taken to kill the second amendment through the back door. Please take a moment to contact your representatives. (especially Ca people...check the second link)

The order to suspend DOD sales of spent brass was rescinded on March 17, 2009 at 4:30PM, 2 days after that blog was written. Spent brass .50cal and under was reclassified from "Demil B" to "Demil Q" which does not require mutilation prior to sales.
Thank you for keeping a keen eye though

I'm guessing on the CA link that they'd be asking the DOJ to set up a new license for ammunition dealers? Presently, there is no license called "ammunition vendor" for commercial sales of ammo under the BATFE or DOJ provided the ammo stays on US soil. There is a requirement for manufacturing which is a Class 6, but not for resale only.

Kewl. Thanks
I'm pretty sure AB962 won't pass, but I'm contacting assemblypersons to make sure they know my feelings on it. Oh...and yes it would require licensing through Ca DOJ.

Right b4 Obama got elected some buddies and myself went and stocked up on enough ammunition to last.. well... for the rest of my life. And if you want to get real serious invest in a shotgun shell reloader.
I dont think this will pass either, but you never know.

I made sure I had enough that anyone wanting to come confiscate my guns would have a really bad day.

I dunno, Personally I think this is your own dang fault for living in California.

I'd be curious to know how they plan on tracking it. Unless they label the individual rounds. OR else all you'd have to say I shot them.

they wouldn't bother to waste the trip to my house because they wouldn't find a thing.
and the problem with guns is the same problem with every thing else. small percent of the people who own guys are ruining it for every one.

this is getting stupid. We haven't been able to get ammo for our guns for awhile now. We have a supply at home, but were told of the troubles with supply because of Obama. We are on backorder for several things. My bro-inlaw in the same boat. WalMart is even in a bad way with their ammo stock. I swear I would never hoard anything, but it looks like now we will.
My Dad re-loads his own ammo. Has everything he needs. So he may be our next supplier!!

9mm Luger has gone from about $12/50 to 18-19/50 if you can find it. The local gun shops are limiting sales to 1 box per costomer.
Keep your brass, and start reloading.
Reloading supplies are on backorder, or going nuts on ----.
I bought a gas mask too.
Don't you just love socialism.

That's exactly what is being proposed or implemented in many places.
Google "ammunition accountability"

The last time Democratics
lost the Congress, it was over Clintons 2 gun control laws. Even life-long Democratics
voted for Republicans because of the issue. The Democratics
won't be stupid enough to try to walk this stuff through the front door again. As far as California, enjoy the !@#* out of living there. It's only going to get ALOT worse.
The Democratics
are going to keep that state in lock-down forever. They have 2 constituencies locked tight that will keep any reasonable politicians shut out: immigrants (for the welfare to keep rolling) and the looney tune wealthy (to keep the perverts in power).
