Gas Prices

Was around $3.17-22 mid last month, and that was a good $0.20 cheaper than back home in NY. I've seen around $3.48-55 here, so I can't wait to head home next week and see how much it'll cost to fill up...

The lows are converging with the highs here. $3.31 - 3.49 ... Might head across the river today for gas.

Diesel is relatively cheap there, though
. Most everywhere I noticed, it's 5¢-15¢ more then premium.
Could be worse, @ $4.09/gal, $75 would only get the Suburban filled to half way

I have been hearing on the news something about the administration talking about opening the reserves to relieve some of the pressure on gas prices. I thought the reserves had very little effect on gas prices which is why they didn't open them up the last time prices got so high. What am I missing?
One store here actually dropped their prices from $3.49 to $3.46. Probably because they were noticeably higher than everyone else and had to back off.

Many people on FB were noting price drops in gasoline this morning and it appears to be all over.
I'm sure the discussion of the opening of the reserves is a "smoke and mirrors" to try and distract us from something that's about to hit the fan.

you're not missing anything. The math I've seen says 1 to 2 cents a gallon.

They have no business releasing the reserves. They could drain them and still not move the price more than a few cents a gallon at best. Then what happens is this mess spreads to Saudi Arabia.

I got a photo on the phone I took on the trip from atlanta showing the pump. $150 in and only 41 gallons. The tank still wasnt full. I think I had to put in another $30.

It's going to get really ugly.
Our profits are already narrowing. Fuel surcharges just don't offset our actual cost increases, they do help, but it's a joke for the most part.
Some guys I know, not myself, pinkie swear, are running agricultural diesel, which is untaxed so still down around the old marks. The only thing is that it's dyed and should the DOT catch you, it's very, very bad.

The problem isn't the oil supply as much as a lack of refining capacity. The refineries in this country are running near capacity and it is easier to get a permit to shoot a black footed farret than to get one to build a refinery.

Nice! What you'll start noticing now, is that alotta gas stations still have limits on their pumps, usually $75 or $100. Gets old to have to pull forward to another pump just to keep filling.

A store here jacked it's prices up to $3.79 which is $.30 higher than the next highest store. Now tell me that isn't gouging!!

One station jacking it's prices isn't gouging, it's dumb business practice. Sounds more like someone is having a cash flow issue and needs to sock away some cash to pay for the next tanker of gas
