That's why it looks familiar. We went through Bodega Bay on vacation years ago as a kid. I remember being very nervous going through the town. I kept my eyes open for "the Birds" (ala Alfred Hitchcock!)
Obviously, we made it through with no problems!

I am a biology professor and department chair at a major university in NYC,and my wife is a medical technologist..

as soon as we get a house, i am getting a dog. even before we buy furniture or appliances, i am getting a dog. i would love to get a great dane or a mastiff, but my wife says they are too big. i say they are gentle giants, but she doesnt listen.
Mastiffs are
gentle giants. Our Neo is one of the most gentle, loving dogs on the planet. Very protective though, he doesn't like me hugging my wife! They are laid back and don't need a lot of room. The only problem they have, IMO, is that they drool and drool a lot. But for all the love and joy they give us, that is a little thing to be concerned about. However, very fastidious people may have a problem with that.
(As you all may notice by my number of posts today, I'm taking a very lazy day today. Taking the wife out to lunch later, but other than that I just need to chill today. Just realized I'm addicted to these boards!)

I'm Justin, I'm 18 and a freshman at Penn State studying Architectural Engineering. I've been reefing for about five years. Started with a 29gal then upgraded to a 55gal. I also volunteer with the 530gal reef here. I've got an older sister, mom and dad, a beagle, golden retriever, 46gal FW tank, leopard gecko, and tree frog (I'm away from all that mess now so it's great). I like being outdoors, I'm an adrenaline junkie, got a good sense of humor, and I'm sure there's more.

Hi guys. I'm Dan 28, and also manic depressant. I'm currently stuck on saltwater fish tanks... I attend the University of Alabama and I own an auto repair business. I'm a huge DIY'ER; my current project is a diy skimmer. Check my posts, I'll be updating with pictures as the parts come in the mail. I hope to one day be a full time fisherman. Oh, and one more thing. I like dancing bananas.

I love the response!!

I am trying to move to a bigger house, so I can have a bigger tank. lol. i always grew up with a dog, but at the moment do not have one. I figure when my son is older I will get one. He is 17 months and more then enough to keep me busy. i have had a variety of pets in my life. Bird, fish, hamsters, cats, dogs. No reptiles yet. lol
I am 23 years old. I'll be 24 in October. I am an RN is a small but very busy hospital. It can really try my patiences sometimes, but I love to help others.
I got out of saltwater for awhile. When I was pregnant and dealing with moving, I had to shut the tank down for awhile. Then I had my son, and moved again, and kept having dreams about my tank. Yes I know it sounds dumb.
So I carried the tank up stairs, and filled it up. It is cycling now. I have made many improvements. I have many recommendations for moving a tank I moved my 46 three times and my 180 once. I missed the hobby.
I have the standard single mom who had a kid with a guy who is mean drama. So cleaning my filters, and doing water changes and fish research is my stress reliever.
I enjoy this site, the people are helpful, and everyone has a different experience. As we can see it is a WIDE range of people and expereince.

Well, I know there are rules on this site. However, I talk to some of you guys everday, I know what your tanks look like, I trust your opinion. I thought... lets do a getting to know eachother a little better, without breaking any rules.
In a clean and friendly manner. Hobby, family, pet peeves, random facts. Just getting to know the people that you sit down with on your computer and are your friends without actually ever meeting them.
My real name is Sarah. I am a nurse in an ER. I work 3 days a week, and am not near a computer. Then I come home and can't get away from my computer or this website. I have a little boy and he is the love of my life. I have a cat Grace she is just trouble. My fish tank is my stress reliever when things are tough. Scraping the glass clean, and watching my fish swim around makes me forget about all of lives turns and challenges.
Who knew, thanks for doing this, it's great to know everyones lives that we talk to everyday.

Henry, I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. I know I can never even begin to imagine....
Jennny and Dan, thank you also for sharing. I know it's not always easy to share health problems like these that we may have to cope with everyday.
An ancient philosopher once said that we should be kind to everyone we meet. Because everyone we meet is carrying a heavy load.
I've been working with depression and anxiety for decades now. No mania though, I don't get the highs. Gets pretty tough sometimes.
Again, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing. Once again here I am at home watching my soaps with my computer in my lap. It is late, I have problems sleeping and I can't wait to read more. I like to keep my mind busy. However I hate reading books. haha
This thread has turned out great. I love that everyone has been open and clean. lol

I suffer from insomnia as well. Try some melatonin. It's in the vitamin section. Your body naturally makes it so there are no side effects. The only effects I have personally noticed are very vivid dreams.
