I have all 18 wheels rolling, and its bad getting tossed around like a rag doll!!!! Worse feeling in the world is your traction control going off as your going down the highway in a straight line. Winds are whipping now. Lost power for a minute but it came back pretty quick. Satellite tv is still working but my cable modem is down. Thank goodness for LTE service on the iPad!

Weather Channel is saying the eye should be on land now. Long Island looks like it's getting pounded by the biggest winds. They say West Virginia's geeting close to a foot of snow. They just showed people surfing on Lake Michigan....

It supposedly isn't a hurricane any more. Now is some sort of bastardized mega storm. It has now increased speed which would be good and could be bad. Not as much rain fall but more storm surge.

I was watching a news feed from New York, and they were saying flooding was getting bad in your area.  They were reporting water all the way inland to the LIRR Rail System?
Luckily not where I am. I am a mile north of the ocean but happily not on a flood prone area. Further west on LI it is a lot worse along the south shore.

It isn't a hurricane in technical terms, but doesn't lessen the severity this thing will bring......The bad thing is the increased speed isn't going to help much, because the "eye" supposedly fell apart, but the winds aren't lessening, and then their expecting major snowfall behind it as well.

Our power went off at 6 pm but, for a change, the generator started right up. I have it wired through a transfer switch to 6 circuits, but I am only using the fish tank circuit to conserve gas since this could be a long outage. I also got a message that my building at work is without power, and I'm guessing that I will lose my 40 gallon reef system there. There goes 2 years of keeping a borbonius anthias down the drain, as well as a great coral collection.

It smells like the ocean when I walk outside. It looks like the worst winds are yet to come. They will come when the eye passes over my area.

My brother lives around Highland Mills NY, and I just read on FB that a tree fell on his garages,......squashed his explorer....and generator
sister in Monroe NY has no power
Friends in Suffern NY have also had no power for a couple of hours now
This is a BAD storm...........You guys out there be careful
