How many people over 30 work out regularly?

Since my heart surgery 3 years ago I do a 40 minute cardio workout, followed by about 10-15 minutes of light weight training. I try to go 3x a week, but usually only get there twice.

I'm soon to be over 30 and I weight train every weekday. Funny thing is it's only something I've started in the past 2 years. I'm really glad I did though. I feel a lot better in general and have more energy.

I am 43 and have been working out 5 days a week for 10 yrs, even when I out of the country which is 30% of the time, I have a high stress job and the various workout routines help me sleep, but also get me home late in the eveings.

I have (had) my gym in my basement. My own workout room. Every other day, 30 minutes.
Stair stepper (in the kitchen)
row machine
Gazelle
Exercise Ball
exercise bike
free weights
tension rope
Treadmill
Those people you were making fun of for obviously not being regulars is why I won't go to a gym. When things go south who needs an audience? Who wants to be the butt of the next cruel comment? Not me.
People think they are being witty when they say nasty comments. They hurt people’s feelings, and I don't want to be the next victim. So I stay at home to exercise.

I exercise at home too...mainly cause I'm too lazy to drive to the gym that's in town...easier once I'm home

I too stay active... play basketball regularly... in the summers I walk a lot and run periodically.
Nobody over 30 (with a job, Florida Joe
) lifts at all? So I'm the last of us who still takes care of himself, huh? That's more motivation for me to keep it up.

How soon before you need to start another addition to your house for your over inflated ego? Or was this just another Crimzy self validation thread...

Was never all that ripped, but was in great shape for fighting most of my teens and twenties.
Got injured and lost my 6 pack. Pure vanity but it drove me nuts. Physical therapy put me back into a groove but I am far from my former self.
Still do a small stretch/cardio every morning but really dont think it classifies as a true workout.
It is on the list to start a new regiment but seems the years keep passing by while I buy smaller and smaller neck sizes when shopping for a new suit.

That's awesome that you all can fit working out into your lifestyle. Making time and keeping motivated is a constant struggle for me.
Flowers I was not trying to make fun of people who are not regulars. If it came across that way I apologize. The truth is that I give everyone at the gym credit, especially older people who have more difficulty. My only point in mentioning that they are clearly not regulars is that those people, based on their physique, appear to be motivated on the short term but have likely not incorporated working out into their life.

Over 30..'yup'
I work out at a gym 5 days a week. Only way I can fit it into family life is to be there when it opens at 5:30 am
. I mostly do treadmill/stair stepper (aerobic) with light weights mixed in..about 45 minutes, then home in time for breakfast with the family.
I dislike the early am work out but no other formula has fit into my 'dad' and 'husband' responsibilities

Just curious. Since "adulthood", I find it difficult to spend the time working out that I used to. Now it's all kids, wife, job, and everything else before exercising. And when I do get to the gym, it's mostly young people... and a few older obese people who clearly aren't regulars.
If you're over 30 and work out, please let me know... how often, how long are you there?
im 33...i go mon,wed,fri for 45min...not to get bigger..just to stay in shape...i also play basketball 1 or 2 days a week...wife and a 5yr old

Okay, I guess I am sensitive, and self conscience. Once when I was at work I had to run the store, I had a bandanna on my head and some teens made a rude comment about Aunt Jamimma.
I turned around and looked at them. They buried their heads laughing. That really hurt my feelings, I would never go to a public place to work out.
I have friends who echo the same sentiment. Being self conscience is why many teens won’t take a shower in school and either cut the class or make excuses not to attend.
It really is a big problem. Self esteem is the underlying reason for obesity in America.
I was never made fun of in school; I didn't gain weight until I started having children. The incident at the store is as close as I ever came to such cruelty. However I watched what it did to other kids.
In the end.. Allot of people who need the gyms the most, don't go.
