Some people have specific problems and this is a great place to ask those questions where as the internet has more vague knowledge and sources could be sketchy. If you are comfortable with sources on this site, then I think this is the way to go.

To look something up in the dictionary, you would start with the first letter of the word and turn to that section. Then you would scan the page from there. You factor in what you think the next letter might be, and so on.I guess I could do a separate post for how to use the dictionary for you. Your dad is a smart man. He must have been born that way.
