When things go wrong it is really nice to just have folks like Meowzer , Spanko, Bang Guy and Nycbob (and counless others) hold your hand through the mess up and get some reassurance that this too shall pass. A book or information site can't do that.
I love helping others as well.

I've never been more proud. You picked the right side and you won't be disappointed. Joe, your team can be the vikings; we'll be the pirates. You guys can be the cowboys and we'll be the Native Americans. Maybe you'd prefer to be the Robbers and we'll be the cops.

I like how you have taken every small opportunity to insult me by saying
flaunt his stupidity
, however, lazy and stupid are entirely two different things. I suggest you look in the mirror if you want to call someone names. Nothing I have said in this post makes me stupid, but I won't comment about anything you have said. I am not like you in that way. The only thing we appear to have in common is a love for this hobby, which has somehow gotten lost in a stupid argument over whether I was being a jerk or helpful. Go about your business being a wanna be Moderator and killing posts.

I'm not going to follow suit with a response like that because you are a Vet.
How about you are a dinosaur (because you really are) and we are a meteorite?

First of all, the stuff in red is nothing more than your opinion. A comma is not a substitution for a semi-colon.
EX: I have two pence; the pence are heavy.
By putting a comma where that semicolon is, you will have a grammatical error known as a comma splice.
The statement that a semicolon could easily be replaced with a period is not completely true.
EX: Their birthdays are January 7, 1990; February 12, 2001; and September 22, 1987.
Using a period or a common rather than the semicolon would be a mistake in super-comma usage.
A semicolon is used for a lot more than just those examples. I assure you that by understanding the use of a semicolon, your ability to write will be vastly increased. As with most incorrect sentences, there are multiple solutions that can be utilized to correct the mistakes. I chose to use a semicolon and was not incorrect in doing so.
Of course it's my opinion. That was precisely my point.
So basically what you're saying is that I can write an entire book and replace every single period, every exclamation point, and every question mark in the book with a comma and everything would be peachy wonderful and there would be no problem in the competence of the sentence that is the book
Not at all. That statement couldn't, in fact, be further from what I was saying. The comma, period, qustion mark, exclamation point and colon are all definite punctuation marks. The semicolon is not.
What I'm saying is that I can write an entire encyclopædia without ever using a semicolon. The same cannot be said of the other punctuation marks.
While your efforts at correcting me are admirable, I stand by my original statement, to wit: There is no grammatical situation requiring the use of a semicolon which could not be made clearer by restructuring syntax.
Get back to me when you have your degree in comparative linguistics.

And for the record, is anything about my original post inaccurate or not a good way of doing things? Cause that is what I find myself defending, when people call me stupid and a communist I find it hard not to defend myself. I made it perfectly clear I was not trying to be a smart&*# in the original post, I thought I made it perfectly clear I was just trying to help anyone who might want it.

IMHO, it is definitely a good way of doing things.
Books may be ancient and outdated, but the internet is fly by night and chock full of falsehoods. That doesn't mean that there isn't good information to be had from either.
Add to that that every tank is different and you will get a divergence of opinions on the "correct" way of doing things.
I could set up two identical tanks and populate them with the same animals/plants and will
get two different results. Yes, the basics are essentially the same, but all in all, a tank is microcosm of a living organism which, itself, also contains living organisms. There are too many variables to formulate anything but the generalities of success definitively.
