I do care. Thank you very much. Had I known the can of worms I would have opened up, I am not sure I would have posted it. Every post I made to this thread, I kept thinking, if they want to argue, I am not going to get involved, but I keep finding myself thinking if I say one more thing, it is going to make sense to them and stop this madness. But I should know better, everyone takes things certain ways based on their own experiences. You can't read someones face or their tone, things get taken out of context. Oh well. I don't think you should feel bad about anything at all. These threads just take a life of their own depending on peoples moods and how they view things for now. Such as myslef ...I was thinking about connecting with others who like saltwater critters.

I had this long post all written out and then my computer died.
It was mostly about punctuation. Uneverno, I did nothing wrong in recommending the use of a semicolon. You treated it as if it was incorrect to use one.
My main point was that, as a rule of thumb, once a thread starts arguing semantics, it is either going to get closed or is going to die quickly. I hope that explains why I started the punctuation saga.
Oh, I was also going to ask what your opinion is on the ellipsis.
Regardless of your intentions, I feel that your post discourages thread-making. I could go into it more but it's like beating a dead horse...and Flower did a nice job with her explanation.

You didn't offend me at all, I am just sorry you got caught in the middle of it. I know what it is like to not have any SW buddies around, the nearest lfs of any kind is 3 hours away. I may be the only one in my area with a saltwater tank. I am glad to have places like this to connect.

I agree with the OP on every thing said thus far.
I think people should research more. I don't think they do and I believe it is a sign of the times.
I am not that old, but I do see a trend forming about thinking for yourself.
When I was young, I was taught to seek my own knowledge, and use all tools that were given to me, before asking someone else to do it for me or hand me an answer. That is not so these days.
Example: There is a search function here, that I don't think a lot of people use, even though they know about it. It is just easier for them to come back and say "how do I kill an aptasia." every 6 months (if they learned for themselves, they might not forget so easily

You are being total hypocrites. If you can say "just don't answer the noob threads, you don't have to answer, just ignore it if it bugs you... yada yada yada...

And FYI, if you keep posting in a thread, you aren't killing it. I am not sure if you noticed but if you keep posting, it goes to the top of the topic list and appears in bold on the user CP, therefore reviving the thread.

ok, i can't help but post either.
So going back to the searching for aiptasia thing....
what if everyone used the search and we only had one thread about how to kill aiptasia and some guy said peppermint shrimp are the way to go?
Is he wrong? No, But there are lots of other ways that might suit a person that is searching better.
It's an extreme case I'm making up, but this is a changing hobby and for all anybody knows there is a new aiptasia killer hitting the market today!
I use the search on occasion, but I feel more comfortable hearing about from up to date users who are probably like me and want all of the cutting edge stuff. Not to mention my problem might vari from the other guys problem, so by posting my own question I can take that out of the equation.
As long as there are posters like Flower & Meo on this board there will be others who learn and share in the workload and hobbish friendship of helping the new person who needs help for the first or the 100th time (like me)

Yes, it keeps that thread up, but who is going to add anything to it? So it stays up for another day. Who cares? In the long run it will be gone.
