*SIGH!* Again looking backwards.Have you not heard McCain acknowledge this.McCain is aware of this ,but apparently Pelosi/Reed/and Obama are not.
You not helping your cause by acknowledgeing this and then supporting a candidate who wants to raise taxes.

Imagine MSNBC and Newsweek painting Obama in a favorable light. I am shocked I tell you, SHOCKED

No, I just pasted what was in the article. Typical semantics for you. Interesting everytime a source that refutes McCain is unreliable, garbage, or liberal, yet I've seen you post many pro-McCain articles from Newsweek. Hypocrit.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REPUBLICAN
By John Gray
Joe Worker
Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot
full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for
minimum water quality standards.
He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His
medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure
their safety and work as advertised.
All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers
medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their
employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares
his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe's bacon is safe to
eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing
industry.
Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is
properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents
because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting
on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and
takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree-
hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our
air.
He walks to the su
ay station for his government subsidized ride to
work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation
fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public
transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a
contributor.
Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay,
medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some
liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.
Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't
want his employees to call the union.
If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker
compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think
he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
It's noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some
bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some
liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who
ruined the banking system before the depression.
Joe has to pay his below market federal student loan because some
stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better
off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime.
Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at
his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to
dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal
fought for car safety standards.
He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live
in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers
didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until
some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and
demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still
be sitting in the dark)/>
He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social
Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could
take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad
he gets back in his car for the ride home.
He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals
are bad and conservatives are good (He doesn't tell Joe that his
beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit
Joe enjoys throughout his day). Joe agrees, "We don't need those big
government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self-made man
who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I
have."

Then you must know by your parties position that Unions are destroying production and business prosperity. Why should business have to pay union wages when scab labor is so much cheaper.

I would sacrifice my union status in order to see that this country gets back on its feet.Being a member of a Union i have seen somethings that im not really proud of.For instance in the winter time i will work at the McCormic Place on trade shows and the Union will charge vendors a ridiculous amounts of money for a electrician to plug in a light,or a decorator to hang a picture with Velcro,or a carpenter to cam lock to pieces of display together...... Or how about a Laborer pushing a broom are picking up debris making around $38 an hour .The Laborer makes around $38 but the Union is charging some where around $68.And it the same for all Unions. That isn't right.Honestly i know we have raised ourselves right out of a lot of work.Unions arent alway fair. But they where good for people when the first formed ,now they are out of controll.

One way of remedying it is to leave and not have your union dues go to an organization that supports the worst for the American future. Now there is a stand to take!
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Leaders from throughout the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners today unanimously endorsed Barack Obama for President.

So some of this is true? I wouldn't quit your Union job without it the scab labor jobs wouldn't pay so well either... Most union carpenters I know claim the socialist welfare unemployement when times slow down between jobs...

This was all true during the birth of unionization, but it is no longer true due to laws that are in place now.All constrution companys must carry workers comp. And as far as Unemployment, that i have only collected once many, many years ago is money that belongs to me,Ive earned it and pay for it.
Again your dwelling in the past.
What does this have to do with today and this election?

I said your source was wrong, not unreliable although I do double check anything I hear from News week anymore. I knew it was wrong because I watched the debate when Obama talked about the issue

You shouldn't.
Now, why should I be lumped in with the people that choose to start having kids before they can afford to take care of them? Why should I be lumped in with those people who didn't stay in school and get an education? Why should I be lumped in with those folks that would rather wait for the Government to bail them out as opposed to working their butts off to get ahead? Why should I be lumped in with the people that don't choose to put health insurance as a major priority?

Here is a better one:
THE DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AMERICAN
by 1Journeyman
Joe wakes up in the morning. He is alive. While he slept the soldiers from the strongest military in the world were fighting, bleeding, and maybe dying so he could sleep in peace. That voluntary military uses the best weapons in the world because some Conservative fought for a strong defense.
Joe turns on the news. He gets to choose what he watches or what he listens to because some Conservative fought for free speech.
Joe goes to his garage and gets in his car. That's right, he owns his own vehicle, as do a large percentage of Americans. He can afford it because some Conservative fought to limit insane labor union practices, crazy taxes on gasoline, and realistic prohibitions on emissions.
Joe goes to work at a job he is actually qualified to do and gets paid what he is worth. Joe has the right to work hard and get ahead because some Conservative fought to keep Government out of business. While Joe works he doesn't give a second thought to a jet crashing into his office because some Conservative fought to take the war to the enemy instead of waiting for for our homeland to get hit again.
Joe goes home for the weekend. Maybe he goes hunting. Maybe he goes to the shooting range. Maybe he goes target shooting. All with his own gun that some Conservative fought to keep in his legal possession.
Joe decides to spend some money. It is, after all, his money. Thanks to some Conservative that fought to allow him to keep the majority of what he makes.
Joe goes to sleep at night. While he sleeps the greatest Intelligence Agencies in the world monitor terrorists all around the world to see where they next might harm Joe. Joe doesn't give a thought to the Conservative who fought to keep FISA and other Intel laws in effect.
