Ich (MICU journal)

My larger clown suffered from Brooklynella around a year ago or so and recovered beautifully. today I noticed that the fish in my tank are acting irregular and hiding more than usual. My Lemonpeel is pale and hiding, the two clowns are literally covered in ick or brooklynella (see pics) and my possum wrasse is MIA. I have been following a couple of folks threads on ick but did not know ick was contagious over the web. Maybe SWF.com needed anti-ick protection!
I tested my water tonight when I got home and they are all within normal limits except the nitrates (10-15) Salinity is 1.025.
Tell me what you think. I have experienced hypo and am prepared to begin tearing down Atlantis to get the critters going. Waiting on opinions and thoughts.
Thank you in advance if I forget to do so later.

It looks like pretty bad ich to me, but the third pic is questionable.
Do you have new fish to your tank?

Hi Beth. I'm glad you chimed in. I haven't added fish for some time and she was QT'd. I did have ick in the tank but the fish were always able to fight it off. I started a Hospital tank and hypo is going to start ASAP. No chems will be added. My smaller clown died last night, as I thought he might. Roo was the most friendly in the system too. I just sat by the tank last night as he posed for the pictures. and swam around as if did'nt have any cares.
So now aside from the corals Atlantis is closed for renovation. (Oh CRAP this sucks) can you say that on this channel? Lol. I hate this.

MICU, "Marine Intensive Care Unit" is now open and well occupied. The fish seem a little confused but are swimming and eating as normal. Just got home from work and fed them a little mysis cuz this morning they woke up and found me digging in the tank. they were acclimated to the hospital tank and left. The bigger clown seems fine. Water, per wifes report is now 1.020. Coming down slowly. Doing some more tonight.
the possum wrasse was found and is moving around sluggishly, he's under precautions as we speak. The Lemonpeel and pygmy angel are doing VERY well and nothing to report on them.
Will add more tomorrow..... gnite.

right now no. I will post one up tomorrow for ya. The firefish goby is out and lookin around like "what the hey!!!" hahaha I want to keep the lights down to a minimum for awhile to just keep my patients relaxed. Hakuna Matata. I don't think too many are going to follow this thread due to the fact I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about the ick koodies. were just burned out on it

Boy Meowzer--you have him pegged!!
I have always felt bad whenever we lost a fish, but this little guy was the best. I shead a tear, silly I know, but he was our pet and responsibility.
Just hoping he doesn't loose the other clown and the possium wrasse. That little wrasse is just so ugly he is adorable, friendly too. Thankfully the MICU was available, it was full until 4 days ago.

LOL......You know....we put a LOT of time and effort into our tanks and their inhabitants.....so IMO it is normal and OK to feel sad...or even shed a tear over our fish friends

day 2 Report, added more water to the MICU. Angels doing fine and no signs of slowing down. The Lemonpeel is surfing the current and doing flips. the Clown is still rather sluggish and has been seen laying in it'sw side. the possum wrasse is sluggish but out and about. Spots are still present on the fish. Took out 2 gallons of water this mornning and added 4 cups. checked water parameters and are all with in normal limits. Ph is 8.4.
Thinking on adding stability, by seachem. It's bio-filter and contains a synergenic blend of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria which facilitates the breakdown of waste organics, ammonia, nitrates. It won't hurt to add 2-5 ml's per water change.
more to follow later.
Henry....... if your peeking around the corner........ feel free to speak up here. Joe anybody?? *big sigh*

MICU Report on Day 3:
Water level is now 1.009. Temp is 78.9. Pateints (fish) are acclimating well. The two Angels are still going strong surfin the current. The possum is still a little sluggish but is eating well and swimming a little more. The clown so far has shown improvement, she is swimming and eating better. She found refuge in a conch shell and uses it as shelter. At times the clown and the lemonpeel share the shell and crash in it at night or for a mid afternoon nap.
As some of you may have seen, yes I do have rock in the tank. It is DEAD rock and soon will be covered in algea, something for the angels to pick at.
Water will be bought down to 1.007.
