funny thing about a tatoo, when they are first putting it on itreally only burns a little and you dont mind because of the thrill of it.
but when healing and the scabs come off and it needs some touch up since the thrill is gone it hurts like hell.
i bodybuild so i got an american eagle flexing his bicep and his bicep has an american tatoo flag on it.
took me a long time to find an american eagle tat i liked.
seems once you get one most people get a second pretty fast.i stopped at two.
how long does it take to stop scabbing and when does it usually start? the bleeding stopped and in the shower today I washed it lightly and so there isn't really any blood left but where there was it is kinda startin to scab, he told me cocoa butter 3-4 times a day and after 4 days just put it on when it starts to feel itchy

Be careful... when I got my tattoo over a particularly sensitive area, (side/ribcage), I got a rash shortly after. The same thing happened when I added to the tat. As it turned out, I was putting too much ointment, tattoo goo, A&D ointment and other crap on my skin to facilitate healing. In hindsight, I'd use that stuff just for a day or two and then just make sure I keep the area clean. But my situation may be unique... I may have sensitive skin.

Starts pretty much right away... after the abrasion dries so within 2 days or so. Mine lasted for a week to ten days I think.

If you are caring for it correctly it should not scab that much...mine never did ( I have 7 fairly large pieces).
Liek Crimzy Said, A&D ointment for the first 24-48 hours only, a thin film over it is all that is needed, but apply it regularly (3-4 times a day roughly). After that any intensive healing lotion is all you need to apply to it (again regularly) and wash with warm soap and water a few times a day.
Then do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around.........

yea it will peel within a day it will look like the dye is coming off but its the ink in the bloody scab.
i just put the ointment on for two days.the scab is just like a brushburn healing so about a week.
you have some long arms need to do some straight bar curls.
get the tat poppin.
i remember when i had 19" arms with my arm band tat.looked awesome .now married and my wife keeps buying junk food and now probably only 16-17 getting old blows.

thanks for the responses, so the tattoo looking like it is F-ing up is what it does when healing? he didn't give me any a&d medicine, he just told me to use cocoa butter 3-4 times a day for like 4 days then after that only put it on when it itches.. and I was it lightly when im in the shower with unscented soap...

you can use baby diaper rash ointment .
it looks like it is lepercy when it is healing.
it will look alot brighter for the first few days wish they stayed that way but it looks like a real nice job especially the crown.
mine really didnt itch much.
a good friend in n.y. does tats and he says he will put a tat on someone then go to the bar and they will be sitting they with smoke ,dirt and whatever else getting all over it.pisses him off.
i wouldnt get too paranoid about it just keep it clean.
just watch how many times you will go out of your way to look at it.
i will probably get another one someday when i find something i like.
i love great ink work but i dont get pearcings .

being able to use baby diaper rash ointment means that the cocoa butter is ok to use? lol
and thank you, the crown looks really great and today it is looking much brighter, but im guessing it fades a little after it heals?

all depends on skin type as to how much fades my eagle still looks nice.
my friend when we were still around 18 got a tat of the taz devil holding a glass with an umbrella.the glass faded away to nothing and now all you see is his hand out with a missing glass and the umbrella.looks funny i dont know why he dont get it redone.
the cocoa will work dont worry when you rub it on and colored skin comes off its normal.the ointment would work better against infection.

gotchya, when I washed it in the shower the water was yellowish from the crown, I thought I F'd it up, lol... Well he didn't give me anything and when I went the first time he said he didn't give anything, just recommended the cocoa butter. I guess just keep it clean and all will be good?
