I'm in the hospital

Oh Flower, if you are a candidate for knee replacement you really should do it. My mother in law just had her hip and knee done and is going to get her other knee done soon and one of my best friends just had both her knees done back to back. They both wondered why they waited so long and my mother in law is a big baby when it comes to pain. It has made a huge difference in their mobility and pain level.
On the tramadol note. Another one of my friend took it once and it made her hallucinate badly it. She said she could see sounds LOL Hope you get to go home soon. Being in the hospital sucks.

Good morning! More prayers coming your way......I'm so happy to see you fighting through this as best you can, but I can imagine how bloody frustrating it must be for you to be laid up like that for so long....

Thanks, as long as my critters make it, I will be just fine. LOL...they put a bubbler on my oxygen because the air is so dry it was irritating my nose...I love that sound, it was almost like home when I closed my eyes.
As soon as they can get my blood thinned to what everever they want it, I can go home......but they have been saying that for four days now.

The FIRST time is always good. Now fast foreward 10 to 14 years..... it's the second and third time when they have to hammer metal into the bone to hold it, since after the first time there is no more muscle to hold the artificial joint.
Nothing fake in the body is ever as good as what God gave you. The doctors make it sound so great, what they don't tell you is that it doesn't last. My mother had the operation on her knees 3Xs and my father had his hip replaced 4Xs...Oh yes the FIRST time was a dream and a miracle cure...the end is an old person who can't stand or sit comfortably and horrible cramps. My father would put a towel on the counter to lean on, he couldn't sit and he couldn't stand for more than 20 minutes like that...he spent his time in the bed going nowhere ever.
How many times for the redo depends on how young you were that first time and how long you live. My mother will need her knees redone when she is 89...sure they will, this last time nearly killed her. I'm sure they will tell her she is too frail to go thru the surgery.
So at 54...I'm not doing it. because that will put me in my 70s for the redo....I'm waiting for the doctors to be able to clone my original joint and replace my knees with that...LOL...by the time I'm 70..it could happen.

I know a few people with knees and they have had no issues. I know a couple people with hips and they are a PITA. In my case my hip socket was blown out and the ball at the top of the femer bone was crushed enough the leg is 3/4 of an inch shorter than the other one. They didn't want to do hip replacement surgery after the wreck so they put it in traction for a couple months to let scare tissue hold it together. I had one of the best hip specialists in the world working on me. He told me after a year or so I'd start feeling the pain and need to have the total hip replacement. Still going on the mess he left me with and it's been 12 years. With as much problems I've heard about hip replacements I am not going to do it until I have to.

My husband broke his back in 1977, they wanted to put rods in his back...He asked me what he should do, I asked him if he could wiggle his toes and he could, so I told him to tell them to leave him alone. Fast forward...he walked and worked until the day he died unassisted. He did need medicine for his arthritis. A friend some years later broke his back from a fall, they put the rods in his back...he needed two crutches to walk and ended up on disability as a young man.
Dan also crushed his elbow in the same incident he broke his back, they wanted to fuse his elbow to permanently be bent....He didn't let them, his elbow healed and while it did have arthritis he could use his arm.
I'm not surprised the "mess" the doctor left you with after 12 years is working, and thats all that matters. The body can heal itself with a little help to hold it together until the mucsles and sinus can get strong enough to hold. Sometimes we don't have a choice, but as long as possible..... what we were born with is always better than any replacment. So if my body works even a little without replacement surgery...that's the route I plan to take.

Hey Flower, get better! I hope everything works out for the best. Hey I started making the stand for my new 90g you helped talked me into. Ordered my RODI system and a slew of other stuff to get this thing going. I learned from the group about having patience so it will probably take almost two more months before I buy my first fish... Take care and get better.

I love your little farm...That baby donkey is the cutest critter I've ever seen, if only baby critters stayed babies. Good to hear you finally got the Mr. Donkey fixed, the poor lady donkey needed a break

LMBO, yea Jeff, how is the donkey factory?
Flower, how are you feeling today? Still keeping you in our prayers.
Thanks, I need all the prayer I can get. I had a rough time night last night, this bed is no good for my back and the pain meds make me sick....Then I asked the nurse this morning if it was Tuesday or Wednesday...she told me it was Thursday. To me it's been like just one long, long day.
