Because rich people have mattresses full of money that aren't invested.

I am still a little negative on the bill and think it at a minimum was passed to quickly.
However the arrow thing is being overplayed. All hunting and fishing equipment sold has a hidden excise tax applied to them at the manufacturer level. The reason is so hunters and fishermen can help support federal wildlife programs.
The exemption to the tax is for arrows suited for use in bows with a pull strenght of less than 30 pounds. That makes them a toy, not a hunting item.
Here's a list of some of the goodies

This whole thing was a political ploy.
What happened that made this soo urgent? Nothing. They goofed around for 2 weeks saying if this doesn't pass today then we are going to have a second great depression. You have pelosi and her crowd using this to say we didn't want to but Bush's bad policies force us to do this. Then you get this bill with almost 20% of the money for "pork barrel" spending project so they could force them to sign it. You have major team dem players not voting for it originally. Then they write a christmas tree bill, in order to "convince" those "reluctant" democrat voters. Then in the end the bill doesn't address the real reason all this went down. And in fact left everything intact. So now the government is in the business of buying peoples mortgages. The people who caused this, wrote the fix. And now get to use this for political ammunition, talk about an october surprise.

Wasn't Bush the person who said we HAD to do this RIGHT now? It is rediculous how much pork is in the stupid thing, and with all this pork (Stupid Harry Reid)....who voted for it in the senate??? Mr. No Pork McSame! It was interesting watch the house republicans, the dems were pretty much all on board, but the GOP was pretty much split.

Its funny how McCain/Palin keeps bringing up the surge to cover the fact that McCain voted for the war and that it was a mistake.
The big issue on the Iraq war is that it never should have been waged.
So stop with the surge sidestep.

The Iraq War has brought Hope
and Change
to 27 million people. Why is that a bad thing?

Because it was at a cost of how many BILLIONS of dollars to the American taxpayers, while there's how many BILLIONS of dollars of Iraqi money sitting in their banks? Hasn't the cost of war for the US already gone over $1 trillion? Hmm, kinda close to the number we're spinning for this bailout.

The reason I saw democrat bill, was because look who was gloating after the bill got passed. It wasn't bush. It was the same people who caused it to begin with.

You do realize most of that money gets spend domestically right? All the airplanes, bombs, guns, bullets, uniforms, soldiers. They all come from the good ol USA. They bandy about the cost. As if we just tossed it down a garbage disposal. But they fail to mention where the money is spent.

Just an observation looking back at the title of the thread talking about annoying voices, when I first heard Barney Franks talk, I couldn't help but laugh! Sorry, but I couldn't help it. Looking at him and hearing him talk reminded me of Mr Magoo!!

Sort of sounds like George Bush, but speaking out in favor of the war!

Because it brought death to 4000 young Americans and squandered our national treasure!

How can squander what you don't have to begin with. Last I checked this country has been in debt for over 50 years......squandered...yeah right.

Study warfare...
4,000 deaths, across 2 fronts in a war that has lasted for 7 years, without a single attack again reaching our homeland...
Any war historian would laud that as a sweeping and monumental success.
Squandered our National Treasure huh? How many trillions have earmarks and pet projects been wasted on over the past 30 years... Again... what is the price for security?
The war in Iraq could had ended a lot sooner had the peoples' resolve not wavered and enboldened our enemies.

Looks like the Reps are getting scared. Got some right-winger at the New York Times to drag more usless fodder out to TRY and improve McCain's ratings. Before you brag, you may want to read the article. It pretty much absolved Obama regarding his relationship with Ayers. Hopefully the morons who keep wanting to chase this ghost will finally put it to rest.

GLORY, GLORY HALLELUAH!! When I was watching the debate the other night, all I could picture was Journey in a dress with glasses and a beufont hairdo on the stage. I knew it was him when he kept winking at me.

So you want to compare the trillions we'll waste on this useless war to useless earmarks Congress has given away all these years, some to your precious Quaylin? Good cop out. And if 100 Years Of War McCain get's voted in, we'll spend another couple trillion in Afghanistan and Iran chasing these terrorists you'll NEVER completely wipe out.
You want to stay in Iraq? Fine. No more funds AT ALL from US taxpayers. Start tapping into the billions the Iraqis have store in their banks. When that cash cow runs out, the troops come home.

You do realize the last time we demanded reparations it spawned the nazis right? And you do realize Obama is running around advocating a "surge" in afghanistan, and doing raids into pakistan.
