Believe me, i fully understand why you dont want to admit that since you cant possibly reconcile how incredibly hypocritical that is. You think Irvin shouldnt be "rewarded" by voting him into the Hall but you "rewarded" Bush by voting him into the Oval office despite his criminal behavior. Seems a little silly to hold an NFL player to a higher standard than the President of the United States, doesnt it?
Has our country degraded to the point where we cant find law abiding presidential candidates anymore???

This is about King Michael's HOF induction(I started it!) but dont argue to me that he should be disqualified for the HOF because of his criminal past when you voted for a PRESIDENT despite his criminal past.
What laws did The President break?

Thats fine, it's only continuing because you said the HOF should be selective and criminal activity shouldnt be rewarded with your vote despite the fact you rewarded the President's criminal activity with your vote, Twice. I guess voting for the President of the United States shouldn't be as selective as the Pro Football Hall of Fame

I guess i'm wrong and thats not hypocritical. Apparently, the President isn't a "role model" and shouldnt be "above reproach"

He pled guilty to Driving under the influence when he was 30(not exactly a kid). Not the worst crime in the world but plenty of people die each year from it. Is that a good role model or above reproach? AMEN!

Gimme a break.
Have YOU ever broken a law?
Been caught speeding, etc?
Don't get on a soapbox because it helps your case with Irvin.
Why not be thankful the President doesn't use ILLEGAL drugs.
What a joke.

Your right this is a joke

Try reading, I'm not the one on the soapbox judging people and saying any criminal activity disqualifies you from the hall and all athletes should be perfect. However, if that is your stance then, which it clearly is for some, seems to me it should apply to the President as well, no?
I didnt care about Bush's criminal past and voted for him twice because people make mistakes and their whole lives SHOULDN'T be judged by them.

Didn't know the president used prostitutes and cocaine.
Get your story straight.
YOU mentioned the President first.

Bush made mistakes. Irvin made mistakes. We all make mistakes.
Maybe you shouldn't post a thread with such an instigatory feel to it.
The presidency is voted upon for what the person WILL do. The Football HOF is voted on based on what the person DID.
Move on.

is this kid serious???
are you really comparing the president of the US (who i dont care for but not the place to discuss) to michael irvin? pretty sure just about everyone has at least experimented with drugs, lets just get that out there to start. honestly i dont think i would want to be led by someone who has not tried one of biggest concerns for the country other than the war.
but you can not in all serious compare what george bush experimented with to what michael irvin did with the drug habits (yes habits because you have seen that he is still doing it well after the times when it is fun) and the hookers and the Cowboys very own white house. Dude get a grip on what you are comparing.

You all need to get a grip and learn how to read. I'm not comparing them. One person posted athletes are role models and should be above reproach and any criminal activity disqualifies their vote and arent their any athletes that arent criminals? Another quoted that with "AMEN!". Then when their hypocrisy is pointed out it becomes"what you never did anything wrong?". If you all are so judgemental and hold Irvin to such a high standard as no criminal activity or you are forever bad, seems you should feel the same about the president you vote for.
Admit it, you all just hate Irvin and will say anything to discredit him. You dont care about Bush's past and numerous other athletes but get on the soapbox for Irvin. HATERS

p.s.- kid??? i'm nearly old enough to be your dad bayside. Guess that explains you not following the thread though. Oh, and all you mods make sure to jump down baysides throat like you did mine for the "most people experiment and dont wanna be led by someone who didnt" comment

is this you telling on me??? i had a sister that once did that when she was 8, hence i kid reference.
Irvin is and was a disgrace of a human being, he jumps on everyone else back during recent years for calling out teammates/coaches, players getting busted for off-field issues. This is exactly how he was as a player so what gives him the right to jump all over people for the exact same thing he did and does. But for whatever TO does he always has his back because those to are "dogs" as he says

Yeah, hes no great guy like Minnesota legend Randy Moss

Weird, Irvin had a history of calling out his teammates and coaches? When exactly was that? Seems odd considering all his teammates considered him the heart and soul of the team and loved him :notsure:
Who exactly did he jump all over for off the field issues by the way???

seem to remember moss on multiple occasions, even tho Irvin did the same things. You can throw in the whole team of Bengals this year also. I know moss is no role model either but Id say weed is a little less serious than crack and blow, wouldnt you? Im not saying he shouldnt be a hall of famer just not first ballad. but hey everyone is gonna show love for their hometown players so im not going to argue bout whos off field issues are worse

I'm not certain why all of you continue debating with the spin doctor. Best to leave him be in the corner with his little jerseys.

Awwww, look who finally stopped
over his beatdown.
Hmmmm, lemme see:
Michael Irvin: 1 Hall of Fame bust
New Orlean Saints Franchise History: ZERO HOF PLAYERS!

Oh, and there is no debate. Michael Irvin IS a Hall of Famer

Guys, honestly, if you just don't pay him any mind, he will eventually go away.
He just clings to things when he thinks he is right (Tony Romo, Saints vs. Cowboys, Bears winning the Superbowl). When he is wrong, he goes away for intervals of time.

Yep....and I've been around for all the football chat since. Acts like I just came up for air tonight.....classic spin to twist in order to meet the agenda and/or to try and get me to jump in the boat.
