He must be hiding pretty well then!~
Plus, he was very, very small.... don't know what could have happened to him.
I have some pretty peaceful tankmates in that tank.

Wow. What a day it's been!! Picked my sweet little baby up from the Vet. (had 3 benign and 1 malignant tumor removed, dental cleaning, 10 teeth extracted) Bill: $346.00. Poor thing has stitches everywhere. I just dosed him with some pain meds because the injection they gave him before he left must have worn off because he was whimpering.
I took the day off tomorrow so that I can stay home with him. We won't know what stage the cancer is in until the histopathology report is back from UGA in "7-10 days".
ALSO.... came home and saw my clowns in a fierce fight. Tumbling around, rolling around each other, nipping at each other, locking mouths, very bad. They've been doing this all day apparently.
I set up my hospital/QT tank, but wanted the tank to run overnight before I separated them to treat the one with all the red marks on it. Now, they BOTH have red marks on them, one more so than the other, and I imagine that they both will look worse tomorrow. I'll check the parameters on the hospital tank in the morning and if everything still looks good, I will put the worse one in and start treatment with Maracyn II. I took my Koralia Nano out of my 14 and put it in the Eclipse for more circulation during treatment. If my corals in the 14 look like they're not happy with that change, I'll have to go out and buy another one.

Ugh, I'm frustrated. Not much I can do right now. I gotta look after my furbaby, and then worry about treating my clown in the morning. Wonder what happened with them all of a sudden?? They seemed to work out their dominance thing fairly quickly without all the fighting and they got along perfectly. Then today, this happens....
Then again... they ARE exactly the same size.

Thanks, SpiderWoman!~ Well... I'm gonna sit back and enjoy it for awhile....
I'm REALLY trying not to upgrade this one... gonna keep it at 14 gallons.
Do you have a thread for your 75? If so... I'm gonna find it and check it out!~

And yay!! Soooo glad that you found a LFS that is an authorized ORA dealer so that you can get a pair of Picasso's! Let me know when you get them! I wanna see pics!~

Yeah I started a 75 build the day the tank was started but haven't really had time to update it. Especially having a less than good camera for *fish* stuff I was not too excited to update pics of corals. Today I got a new camera (Rebel XTi) and was able to get some shots of the tank with actinics on. Not the greatest yet, but I'm learning.

So sorry about ur dog, I'll keep him in my prayers. He deffently is living a great life with you. We all wish for the best of results.
So all along the bite marks were from the clowns attacking each other? So it never was the goby fault. That's so werid I never heard of clown pairs doing that, do u think u have 2 females and both don't want to morph into a mail or somthing, or did u get ripped off and not get a true pair?
Also my emperor shrimp host a rock right in front of the tank so I see them every day, well any way I was claening my tank and glueing corals onto the rocks yesterday. So I had to remove the rock out of the water so I had to shake the emperors off then I removed the rocks, they were out for about 15 min each so this morning I looked into the tank and saw that they were back on there lr in the same places.
So maybe urs found a nice place hidden somewhere and he wont move. U still have a chance of seeing him one day.
Also I didn't realize how easy it is to break sps I created a little frag which sucks bc it took like 2 weeks to grow away man I have to find a little magnic cleaner safe for acrylic bc once the SPs fills in idk how I will be able to get my hand in there lmao
Also I live my algae blenny its doing such a great job if i got like ten them in like one hour all mine would be gone all the algae that is

Thanks for the prayers for my little baby. He's doing better today, but still having a lot of pain, understandably so. He is definately spoiled and lives the "good life". I wouldn't have it any other way!~

The marks on the clown, initially were from him rubbing against the underside of the brain coral when he would try to hide. I actually witnessed the goby pounce and nip on the clown and that's when I removed him. (he is now back at the LFS) The clowns have been getting along perfectly until yesterday. I think that what happened was that the clown who initially submitted to be the male saw that the other one was a bit injured and said to himself that he wasn't going to be the male anymore and decided to take advantage of that situation.

I certainly hope that I end up seeing that emperor shrimp one of these days and that he was just hiding somewhere or found himself a place in the back to stay. Kind of expensive to only see him for 5 minutes!
Well, those lawnmower blennies seem to have that name for a reason!
So glad that he is doing a good job of clearing up your algae!~

I swear, I have psycho clowns that need serious help. When the lights went out last night, they fought with each other right on up until that moment, and as soon as the lights went out, what did they do?? Cuddle up together in the brain all night!

All parameters were perfect this morning in the hospital tank so I removed the clown with all the red marks and put it in and started the Maracyn II treatment. He explored the whole tank, but has since settled in and is hosting the heater. The other clown in the DT, OMG.... poor lips are jacked up! They are chapped and he looks like a duck. I know that this is from my other clown locking mouths with it, though the other clown's mouth is perfectly fine. I put another dose of Melafix in the tank to help that one out since he's not in the hospital tank. You can tell that he has a little bit of fin damage, nothing too bad and only a small, faint red mark on him.
Gonna keep the clown in the hospital tank for the 5 day treatment and see how it goes....
silly clowns....

I was just updating Sepulation about my clowns. The one in the hospital tank is doing well. The marks seem to have faded a little bit. He's hosting the heater in the tank.
The one in the DT with the jacked up lips is the one I'm worried about. Yesterday, his mouth had a white, chapped look. Today, it's not white anymore, it's red streaked. Looks exactly like someone chewed up his lips and put them back on his face. Well, essentially, I guess that's what did happen. Also, when he opens his mouth, it looks all bright red in there.
He's eating fine, still has a good appetite, but he's been staying underneath the brain all day except to come up to eat. I'm wondering if he should be added to the hospital tank too... so I asked Sep to see what he thinks.
My dog, well, he's miserable.
His pain med wears off in the evenings and the tumor that they removed from his "bottom" made his bottom raw and protruding with swelling and stitches. He will try to sit up and walk and his back will just bow up and he will sit down really fast and scoot on the floor, crying. He shouldn't be scooting on it because of the risk of infection. I called the Vet today and they suggested cold compresses and to use Preparation H hemorroid ointment on it. I tried that and it doesn't help. Poor thing. He's sleeping right now. I hope he heals up soon.
Thanks so much for stopping by to ask.

I know! You both had surgery on the same day!

He seems to be feeling better today. Haven't heard any cries. He's got the itchies though because of all the shaved areas and stitches.
The clowns are a whoooole nother story! Long story short... they just went nuts and tried to kill each other. The fought the whole day on Tuesday and I had to set up a hospital tank to treat one of them. Fierce fighting. Biting, locking mouths, twirling around each other. It was bad; very aggressive fighting. The looks on their faces... they weren't messing around! They would charge each other with their mouths wide open! The one that didn't go in the hospital tank, his mouth was waaaay messed up. It literally looked like someone chewed his lips up and put them back on his face. Poor thing. But they've both been eating well. I don't know why they went psycho like that.
Between the dog and these clowns, they've kept me busy, busy, busy all week!
Thanks for checking in.... hope you're feeling better, sweetie!~

What a CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAAAAZY week it's been!!

The clown that was in the hospital tank comes out tonight to go back into the DT. I hope it goes well and that they don't start fighting again. The one that's been in the DT, his mouth is looking better, but it's still not healed. Poor thing. He can still eat pretty well though and acts like it doesn't bother him. I hope that they get along because I don't think that little one with the mouth wound can go another round of fierce fighting like that again. I'll have to keep an eye on them for sure. Sepulation has been awesome with helping me through these last few days.
The elegance has been doing beautifully in my tank all week. Eats like a pig and will catch anything in its tentacles to eat, even ORAGlo pellets!
I did a water change last night and today, it is not happy. It hasn't expanded fully like it has been. I've heard that they don't like their water to be "perfect", so I don't know what to do now... the rest of my corals are as happy as can be. I am so used to doing weekly 25% water changes. Maybe I won't do one this week and see how it goes?

Anyway, thanks to those of you who were so sweet to think of remember Kobe in your thoughts and prayers. Today is the first day that I feel like he's not in pain. He's in that "itchy" phase because of the shaved areas and the stitches and his skin healing. Still have to wait on that pathology report to find out what stage his cancer is in.... so please continue to remember him in your thoughts and prayers.
Oh, and you may want to add my clowns in there as well that they get along and not kill each other!

They look like the $100 ones from SWF
They are ORA Picasso Clowns. (Percula) And I got them from SWF.com. They are usually $99.99, but I got them while they were on "sale" for $94.99.

Well, my clown finished its 5 day Maracyn II treatment in the hospital tank and went back into the DT with the other one. I was a little worried at first because they were about to fight again. The clown that was in the hospital tank went after the other one with his mouth wide open and an angry look on its face and the other one submitted right away. Since then, they've been swimming together, getting along just fine. No more fighting. *knock on wood*
I am waaaay exhausted, so heading to bed now... hoping that I don't get a call at work tomorrow telling me that the clowns are fighting again.
