Thanks! I just fell in love with those clowns the moment I saw them! I went to pick up my pair of Picasso's (which I was highly disappointed in) and saw these two bright orange little clowns in separate cubicles. That's all it took.
They're so funny. They don't hang out with each other during the day, but at night, they huddle close to each other and sleep under the middle rock. Soon as the light comes on, the female pushes the male away and goes her own way.

that fire shrimp is my favorite cleaner but im afraid to get him b/c he might scare all the little inverts=(
Oh, no... don't be afraid to get a fire shrimp. They are harmless and won't scare anything. If anything, most of them hide and are skittish. Unless yours is like mine and is spoiled and loves the attention.

Kat quick question for you. Whenever I see pom-pom crabs at my LFS, I never actually see them with their pom-poms.
Do you order them online or at your LFS. I would love to eventually get one, because they are beautiful, but I would want them to come with their poms.

Actually, when I got my pom pom crab, he didn't have either of his pom poms. I bought another one a few months later that had pom poms and saw my first pom pom crab go after it and tussle with it and the next thing I knew, I had 2 pom pom crabs with one pom pom each.
My first one stole a pom pom from the other one. Then, I never saw the other one anymore (it was smaller than my first one) and the next time I saw my first pom pom crab, he had both pom poms! So he must have killed the other one, I'm assuming.
I was told that I must have gotten another male and that's probably what happened.
I know that the pom pom crabs that my LFS gets in, some have the pom poms and some don't.
Ask your LFS if they can make sure to request pom pom crabs with actual pom poms when they order from their supplier and when one comes in, for them to hold it for you. They really are fascinating and so funny to watch them swat at things and sweep the sandbed with their pom poms to get food. Hope you get one!~

awww.... don't worry about them, sweetie! With all of them going in at the same time, it should be okay, right?

Keep in mind that my first pom pom crab was the king of the roost for a few months on his own and was feeling "inadequate" because he didn't have any pom poms and in comes this new, younger one with 2 very full pom poms... what did you expect would happen, right?

wish i could get mine to look that colorful! just wondering, but does a skimmer really make much of a difference in a 29? i haven't gotten one yet. also would you recommend getting a better light and "modding" my biocube?

Ummm... to be honest, I haven't really noticed too much of a difference since I added the skimmer.
The only thing that I have noticed is that I don't have to use the mag-float as much. Water quality still seems the same to me... but I do make sure to keep up with my water changes every week. (5 gallons)
I'm going to (one day... some day) do the lighting upgrade through nano tuners. I don't really plan on keeping anything else except for softies and some LPS, but at least it will make what I have a little happier.

As for "mods".... you will definately want to add more powerheads for flow in the tank. I added two Koralia 1's in there and am happy with that.

also KAT is ur tank acrylic b/c i thought u can't use a mag float on it, i have one on my 10 gallon but i don't want to scartch up the glass. so i use a acrylic safe pad and do it by hand.
Also some new pics for u=P

My tank is glass. They make mag floats that are safe for glass.

and I saw your new pics... go check out my comment about your so-called "pretty worm".....

JMO for the money that for what the nano tuners upgrade cost. I was considering it too, but the nova sundials HO T5 4 bulb fixture is only $199.00 you can run your tank open top, and the fixture only over hangs the sides by only 2" it doesnt look bad at all. And for what you get for lighting.... WOW what a difference. Thats the way I went with my tank but you need the 29 or 24 size ones or else the lights are too wide for the tank. JMO.
