Always.. it gets exposed when I do my W/C but it hasnt effected it untill now.
HMMM...I know when I have taken a PH out, that the coraline gets white..then it grows right back....
I just have heard that white means dieing.....how is your water testing?

Havent had time to test. But fro mthe looks of my corals all seems well.. Nothing is small.
Also the best indicator in my tank is out and about (the coco worm) Notice that when soemthings off in the water chemistry its the first to go into hidding.

Already sent him a PM but I dont think hes around lol.
I heard soemthing about coraline going through a natural cycle, death then regrowth, but I want to make sure thats what it is.
So far it seems to be the coraline on my PH's and the stuff on the glass is starting to bleach, then lastly the stuff on the rocks doesnt look as bright of a purple.

Anyone have an idea why my coraline is turning white?
Mine does that too. It's seems fine to me... it'll turn white then purple then white. I dunno why but I just ignore it. It still grows. the purple on all my rocks never turn white (knocks on wood) but the stuff on the glass does.

Coralline will turn white with exposure to air and light at the same time or with increased lighting. (increased lighting being the number one issue)
Meowzer, turning white is a bleaching of the coralline, not that it is dying. It's color will come back in time with proper water conditions and light.

Hmm wierd! My water parameters seem alright (not from acctual testing but my corals and coco worms are doing good, so it indicates everythings good, but ill test tongiht) The light has always been the same.. For being exposed to air I can see why the coraline is bleeching on the PH, but not the stuff on the rocks.

Light being the most apt cause of a change, water chemistry in the Calcium and Magnesium can also do damage. Are you testing for these? Do you know what your parameters are?
Are you sure this is coralline bleaching on the rocks? Got a (I hesitate to ask this) picture of it?

haha.
I said I havent gotten updated parameters yet, been studying for 2 exams which I have today (WISH ME LUCK!). I'm goingt o try to get the readings tonight before hockey.
Yep the rocks are bleaching. Not as much as the stuff on the PH or glass, but you can see little bits of white and the coraline isnt that bang purple colour anymore. Its not completely bleached yet, but its getting there.
Crappy cellphone pic but it does its justice.

See what I mean when I say its not its bright purple colour.
My calcium and all those parameters have always been perfect, the only parameters that I had an increase on (which are back to normal again) are phosphates, nitrates (both good for algae anyways) and ammonia (Got it down after a day, and this was about 2 weeks ago or soemthing like that when I cleaned my filter)...
