Nice! I fragged my kenya tree last week and the point of incision is already regenerating another arm! I think kenya frags only go for about 10$ in canada though Where are you in Ontario?
Vaughan, yeah they go for around $10. But I see it as money! They coral will regrow pretty quickly, we bought it anyways since we liked it and it needs to be cut, so eventually itll pay for itself lol.
Caulpera Racemosa
IDK...the blue sponge looks okay to me....if it was dieing, It would be turning white, or just mushing away...at least my orange one did
Is that algae okay to have? The guy said it doesnt spread fast, but isnt this the one that goes sectual and releases all the spores? But I do have filter floss before the return pvc into my display, so that will hopefully stop it.
As for the sponge, sometimes it looks more porous(maybe because the ostia are open (incurrecnt cannals)). Or could this be a sign of decay?
Nice to see your still here. Tank looking great. As for the algae chaeto releases nitrates when it goes sexual to prevent that you can trim it. I do not know about caulpera.

Chaeto does not release nitrates and go sexual.....Chaeto is a nutrient exporter
caulpera CAN get invasive and go sexual and release nutrients and reprodu ctive products back into the aquarium
Yeah I know about cheato, I've already had it lol. Meowzy is right! I know cap gets agressive, but you think the filterfloss before the return pipe will prevent any spores getting into the dt?
There was a really good deal on some sps (chalice (looks really cool) and montipora(brown/orange) 2 for $40 + 30% off. So I figured the price was right and I always wanted to test out the limitations of my tank. So I bought them! Rgiht now they are both at the very top of my tank and I have taken the leggs off the light fixture and set it directly ontop[ of my tank, so the corals can adjust.
Any tips on a better success rate?
thanks
Heres the pics Lois
I took the leggs off the fixture so I can drop the lights so they are directly above the water rather than having the 4" gap between the lights and the water. I figured like this it would give more light to the corals and I can light acclimate them to handle the pcs and eventually put the legs back on the fixture (since they were probably under MH.
Might take Goobes MH lights if its a good price and if the fixture is nice lol..
be careful with them right on the tank like that.....
I'm not sure how they will do with pcs though
have you ever checked into T5's????? I think they would be better for the smaller tanks
