The on ly thing that looks like it might be a disease is the little black dots near his eyes. Which would be the begining of hille. But I dont think it is because I'm pretty sure those dots were always there unless the fish has always had hille. Other than that the white gash doesnt look like anything in that thread.
Bad to say but it doesnt really bother me since its a 8$ fish that I was going to give back to the LFS anyways. The only thing I'm worried about is w.e it is infecting or leaving traces in my water.

This is true. Everything I read up on cromis it says there peacful compaired to the other damsels.
But I cant keep my little guy since I'm getting the clowns and the cromis needs 30g+ and a school so it can learn. Hes probs really sad now without any buddies.
As for the algae blooms, I got a sample of purple up from my LFS and I've used it for 3 days now 1ml each day. What I've been reading about it is that it increases the phosphates in the water + calcium i believe. Thats where the source is comming from I'd imagine.
I have a cool little piece of algae growing in the sand looks kinda like a katus(spelling?)
and the only cerith snail in my tank passed away I think(unles its a sleep haha). Its laying on its side in the sand bed, it didnt really do much anyway.

The cerits are weird.....they "sleep" sometimes...and then they will be gone. They are good to have though
I have clowns and chromis....what makes you think you can't

Because you have a larger tank;)
Id need at leaste 2 cromis and the 2 clowns. My bio load will be through the roof! Then I'll be on here breaking your balls even more then I am now haha.
I love watching my hermits there so silly looking. They climb on eachother and pick at eachothers shells, meanwhile I have algae growing all over!

YEAH...I'm not impressed with the hermits algae eating skills yet either....I am looking at some different snails to order for all my tanks...I asked a "friend" aha you know who...what he thought of them

No see mine are amazing at eating the algae. They cleared the rocks to the point they looked white again. Its just the algae growing in the sand, is working its way back up onto the rocks. I only have 3 of the holloween and 3 tiny tiny tiny I mean tiny blue legg hermits. I bet if I had more of the holloween there would be no algae on the rocks. But then again I dont want to get too many and then starve them. They each molted once and all changed there shells, so I guess thats a good sign that they like there new home.
My next purchase will be the clowns!

I dont know then

My hermits dont go into the sand at all, unless they need a new shell. The blue ones stayed i nthe sand for 3 days then got a taste of the rock and now I dont know where they all are I see one or two once in a while but other than that they all dissapeared.
My scarlet seems to be moving around a lot more then before. Dont know if hes doing anything tho, he always faces the back of the tank so I can never see his body and what hes doing.

LOL...they do that a lot too.....The other day mine was hanging on a rock, and it's molt, which was still 100% intact, was right next to it...I had to do a doubletake..lol...I thought I had 2 for a minute

Yeah, well I knew it was going to molt because lastnight I acctually saw the skin over the new skin it just had to fall off. So when I woke up I saw to many sets of antenas and then I saw a molt and jacques chilling under some LR. The molt isnt as realistic as the hermit crab molts, the colour in the cleanner shrimp molts is more fadded.

TRUE, it is transparent, but the antennas will fool you....and if you look at it when you only have one eye half aopen...LOL...well it can look like anything then

Yeah I can see where your comming from. I thin the only reason I knew it was a molt because I saw that he was ready to molt lastnight, otherwise I would have thought he died or something like all the hermits when they molted.
