You can do what ever you want in your own tank. The purpose of asking questions and getting answers is to devise a plan that can fit with your particular tank.
That said, I would not put two Lysmata shrimp together in a 10 gallon tank, but hey, that's just me.

Well you guys have more experience than me in the hobby, and the fact that I want this tank to be as little hastle free as I can get it I rather just take your advise.
Ill just boil some water for the apistia. It wont effect anything else will it?(the boiling water)

You will need a syringe. You want to be as pinpoint as you can. Lemon juice will also work if you get the little bugger right in the mouth. Joe's Juice or Aiptasia X are two products that would probably work better. Also a slurry made from Mrs. Wage's pickling lime or Kalkwasser.

So I shot the hot water at them and they turned into little balls.
Guess I'll wait and see if they open up again then go to plan 2.

AHHHH...I SEE....Well when you do one use your baster first to siphon it off...try not to stir, and then drain the amount of water you are going to change

Yup, exactly what I did last water change. I cleaned the glass then scraped some of the rock where algae was growing then syphened the water and the little algae particles floating around.
Its been about a month and a bit do you think I should change my activated carbon?? Remember the month was without fish or inverts.
