I have a sump/refugium....yes they are great to have, BUT for a 10g tank...I really don't know if it would be worth it or not...
You might want to go to tips and techniques..and post the question...is it worth it to have a refugium for a 10g tank and see what kind of response you get

Does mixing salt come with experience because I suck at it! I had to raise the salt concentration and when I got home it jumped way to high lol so i took some water out and added plain dH2O
I use 5g jugs and 3g jugs to transfer my water into the big tub I use for mixing saltwater. I count how many jugs I am using so I kind of know the amount of water in gallons, then I add my salt accordingly. I almost have it perfect right on every time, I hope I didn't just jinks myself.
My tank is much more than a 10g but the point is...measure your water so you know how much salt.
I also wanted to comment on the flow bar being vertical. I was just thinking about turning my flow bar to go across the back of my tank to give flow to the rocks back there...I have two output and one can still flow across the top, and here you went and did it.
Let me know how well it works, or if it a bad idea can someone chime in?

My flow bar going vertically is working great You can see it in the pictures i posted before. I also drilled in more holes so the spray shoots in different directions. So far if i put my hand near the holes i feel each one shooting out water so I guess its working fine?
Plus I know the spray is strong enough because the sand near the bottom holes is constantly shifting little by little.

The light is a good one if it is a Current USA Nova Extreme t5 HO. I only say this because the seller lists it as that light but says it has 2x24 light and current lists it as 4x24. So you might want to get some clarification on that. New that light is about $170 US.
Also do a search on the Coralife RO system. The one the seller has pictured does not look to be a 100 GPD system.

WELL you have to be registered to view the classifieds

With a 10g tank, if you did a 10% w/c a week, that's one gallon...how mucj does 1g of water cost in Canada

The reason I ask is this....get your light, skimmer and such....
Since you are a poor college kid
wait on the ro/di for a little while.
