try feeding with garlic, or even just trying some flake or pellet food, to get him used to you feeding him.

Well Joe, as long as he's eating SOMETHING in QT....you have plenty of time to wean him. He's picking out what he wants; I sure wouldn't bother with flakes or pellets until he goes from live/cyclopeeze to frozen. Don't let your past experience cause you to worry too much, Buddy.

Just out of curiosity of the people out there that have a RG in their DT how many of you put their fish right into their DT after acclamation with out any quarantine time

I QT'd my RG for 3+ weeks before putting into DT. I did not hypo it in QT. The RG did not eat the first day, but ate hearty after that. I have no problems feeding it anything. I feed Frozen foods - Mysis, Emerald Entree and Marine Cuisine.
Sorry you are having such a hard time.

I must shamefully admit I did. Ended up with popeye. Now her name is one eyed flo.

But they lived is the common thread that they just don’t do well in a small tank environment of a QT and just shut down maybe they need the every day hustle and bustle of tank reef life to survive

Joe,
How does he look otherwise? I am not going to go through the hyposalinity deal when I get mine. I can't! I have 3 gold dust (freshwater) mollies in my QT. As I introduce new fish I will treat them with Clout and Metronidazaole
Don't ask me. I have a marine biologist who has been giving me pointers. I hope that your RG pulls through.

Steve my RG looks good other then starving himself to death he is responsive to movement out side the tank swimming at a 45 degrees angle as they do body is clean and free of spots eyes clear color bright he just WILL NOT EAT

Well it seems like my RG is destine to starve himself to death my last resort is hatching my own brine shrimp maybe the newly hatched shrimp will get him to eat I will have some hatched tomorrow but I do not think that will work so I am left with a morel dilemma do I continue to try to feed him and watch him slowly starve to death or do I take him to the Keys and release him in the hopes that the open water will give him a new life if not at least he will die in the ocean and not in a 20g tank in which he was never meant to live in anyway

I think that you should take a breather and relax for a second.
Fish can go for long whiles without food (even up to two weeks). There is no reason to lose hope now just because she hasn't eaten for one or two days.
It may even be a good idea to stop feeding her for a few days so she develops an appetite.

sorry this may be venting but no need to stop feeding him he is not eating and its been 4 days my window of giving him a chance in the open ocean is closing fast

He's yours and if he is to not survive, then so be it. Maybe RG's don't need H/S. Far be it for me to advise you, but don't let this be your last Chronicle. Have you used H/S on all of your RG's? Maybe anticipating something that may happen to your fish, may not happen. You are much more experienced than I but if something ain't working then change it.
I wish you and your RG the best.
