LIGHTS OUT

Dissolved Organic Compounds. Things taken out by coral as food, protein skimmer as waste. Yeah if you were overfeeding shame on you. I would put one powerhead on the side low in the back and one on the other side higher toward the front for a while and see if that stirs thins up some more. Am I reading you have one of the listed snails? If so get more.....now.....woman!!!!

remember....I was feed 2x a day when the horse was in there.....so I kept feeding 2x a day after...BUT THEN....thought that was too much.....and NOW I realize that I may be feeding too much.....they are only TEENY gobies.....LOL
OK....I'm gonna adjust PH's and keep lights out.....I will do a nice W/C on Friday too

WELL...I was not able to get the PH on the right as low as I would have liked cause of the rocks, BUT It is about the same height as it was ...on the right side wall of course, BUT at an angle down blowing across the back.
The one on the left I just pointed out straighter towards the front glass....AND I ordered a Koralia 550.....thinking this little nano might be too little

How is the tank looking?
Well...today is only day 1 of the lights out.....there were a couple of spots I saw with a flashlight and I siphoned them out.....I also just moved the powerhead.
I am letting the lights come on in the morning for 1 hour to feed and that is it.....Tomorrow I will mix water for a w/c on Friday and then put the lights on for a little while
HOPEFULLY these changes will help

Any bulb should be changed at 2500 - 3000 hours of use. Consider 10 hours per day 30 days per month = 300 hours or 10 months. This at the high end IMO more like 8 months but I digress. Light spectrum loss is faster down at the blue end of the spectrum, this is why high Kelvin light looks dimmer to our eyes. Think of how a 10k light looks next to a 20k light. So as the blue spectrum is lost what remains is the yellow-orang-reds which the cyano likes to grow under.
Also with any coral in the tank as the color spectrum changes and the coral adjust to the lower spectrum then boom you put new bulbs in and blast the bejeesus out of them they burn or bleach.
LEAVE THE LIGHTS OFF FOR 3 DAYS PLEASE.

Well I peeked into the 28G with a flashlight and did not see much (YAY) Lights are staying out till Saturday though...and a w/c will be done then too
the 225G still has the MH lights out.....the brown on the sand seems a little lighter......Tomorrow I will be cleaning out and adding new gfo to the phosphate reactor, and I am currently making water for a w/c....won't be mixed tonight, so that will be Saturday also....I am going to change the chemi pure elite when it gets here....LOL....so probably next weekend on that
The MH bulbs are due to be changed, BUT I AM NOT spending $180 on bulbs when the LEDS are going to be finished soon......so I have to deal with that...when they are on, I only have them on for a few hours anyways (right now they are off)

Well, I hate that you are having so many problems.
I agree that you shouldn't pay for new MH bulbs when the LEDs are so close to being done.
I've been lurking on your LED thread and have learned a few things. I've been talking with 2Quills about how to make my own LED setup for my 20g nano. I know you don't know anything about it, lol, but it's just something I'm contemplating about doing. Anyways, good luck and keep us updated!

Phosphate reactor changed out for the 225G
W/c's to be done tomorrow in the 225G and the cube (maybe others) LOL
Peeking in the cube it looks good (fingers crossed) tomorrow will be the real test...lights will come on for a short period at first
