LIGHTS OUT

Ya know, I really can't say whether or not the coral looked better with those lights, cause they still look the same to me without them lol. I believe you are correct on the whole spectrum thing about upping the k. I believe that was what they were saying. It changes it so that the nuisance algae doesn't grow well. I can narrow one spot to the lights in the back left corner, but one spot in particular is right under the center metal halide on a bleached rock from the 75g. But since we have done the lights out, it has improved tremendously. OH, and I do remember nikesb saying that there were reports of cyano outbreaks when using these lights. I think that the brown fuzz meowzer and I are having is/was thriving due to the spectrum from these type of lights.

I don't have cyano or dino in this tank.....just fuzz...and brown on sand....
the 2 "purples" I have are the back 2....side by side. Bulbs were changed September I think.....There will be NO reds in my LED set up.
I think that the use of red led's need to be researched for sure. It makes perfect sense that it could cause problems.

That's the second time today I've read "Planaria". Is there really a saltwater Planaria? I've never heard of that.
Thin 1" White Worms could be many things. If there's a lot of them and they suddenly appeared then it could be a Hair Worm hatch.

I think I see my confusion.
Planaria are a Genus of freshwater animals.
Planarian is a common name for "flatworm".
It was interesting in that while searching I found a picture I took of a White Flatworm
