Little Green Men

Bea...you bring up a good point. Hopefully the explosive rate by which technology has been advancing will continue. By the end of my life I'm sure the technology that we have will be simply amazing. This thread seems like science fiction, but every day science fiction seems to become less and less fiction...
Now wattsupdoc is getting into dimensions and other craziness
I love it
Maybe those "ghosts" people claim to see aren't former humans at all, maybe they are something completely different.

Maybe those "Ghosts" are the real "Aliens"?

haha. That's how they explained deja vu. The human died but the Matrix failed to erase the file completely...

Uhm yeah what you said sounds good and scientific so I will agree .

Good one!
Yeah, sometimes the objective and scientific way of looking at things and of attempting to analyze unknown possibilities is like way out there and doesn't hit on some of the core importance of the whole Little Green Men concept. The possibility of intelligent life exisitng somewhere other than on our insignificant little planet touches on so many parts of just what it means to be human and to be well, self conscious, to say nothing of the implications for the major organized religions here on Earth. It is hard to distill that whole mysterious question of extra terrestrial life and all its implications for humanity down to an objective equation that can be analyzed objectively and mathematicaly. Doesn't stop us from trying though!
Speaking of what forms intelligent life out there might possibly take, think about this: In order to manipulate their enviornment, whatever and wherever that enviornment may be, any other intelligent life forms will be aware of the same laws of physics that we are, specificaly the four universal forces: The strong nuclear force (governing how atomes are formed by interactions between protons and neutrons), the weak nuclear force (covering nuclear decay), elctromagnetism (covering how atoms and molecules interact with each other in the macroscopic scale), and gravity ( which involves the really macro side of things and will determine the ultimate fate of the universe as we know it). Also known to any other intelligent life would be the Periodic Table of The Elements that you see in every chemistry classroom and lab. these are things that describe, in an objective and precisely defined way just how matter and forces interact in our unverse. The little green men might not be able to understand what we are, but they would have to be be aware of these four forces and of the periodic table of the elements. It am just trying to put out there that regardless of how different, in ways that I can not possibly imagine, other intelligent life forms might be there has to some commonality of knowledge and understanding of how thing work in this universe.
Regarding the phrase Little Green Men, it was coined by astronomers many years ago who observed signals in the sky that were of a strength, frequency, and regularity that when they were first discovered it was immediately assumed that they were the result of the actions of intelligent life somewhere out there. Turned out to be signals from pulsars that are white dwarfs stars rapidly rotating around companion stars in such a frequency and speed as to give the apperaance of electromagnetic radiation given off by some sentient life form.
Imagine what will happen if we do discover an actuial signal from another civilization-I really believe that it will happen in the next fifty years or so and I hope I am arounsd to witness it.
OK, off the soapbox, I have to go clean my tank now.

This may be accurate, but we don't know that there are elements out there we have no trace of here. The laws of physics only apply to this reality. They may or may not be intertwined with some other reality. Which may support life in a form we don't or cant recognize. These beings may possibly be instead of extra terrestrial, inter dimensional. Or possibly they exist within us, or everything for that matter, on the atomic level. Possibly our rock is the equivalent to a quark in some giant dill weeds nostril. Is there common knowledge in these situations? Or will they not be able to recognize us as a form of life?
I prefer to think that the science is solid. But I enjoy entertaining the possibility that it even is a facade.....

I think it is completely naive to even think that WE are the only life form out there. Some say that there may only be if there is another planet much like this one. Why? We only know what we know. I am quite confident that there is more that we don't know than what we do.

People living all around us isn't really that unbelievable. Not that long ago, we didn't know that there were microscopic organisms living in and on everyone and everything. We never knew of microscopic things before and figured out a way to see them, maybe in the future we will be able to see into other dimensions.

I would like to retract what I just said...as my beliefs have changed. I do not believe in life outside of our world.

Crash-I guarantee that your 17 years would not have held a candle to mine.

Not that it matters. Even if I start now and work my entire life, I won't be half the stubborn asshole you are.

Ignore me, just testing to see if I can post yet.

Ok it worked. Having some issues since the update.

And yes there is life out there besides us. Michale Moore is an alien from the planet ASS in the DEUCEBAG galaxy.
