If you all remember that green "snail" thing i had pics of a while ago, I just found the sucker on my rock. I cant remember if you all decided if it was good or not. I got better pics for ya to debate on. Meanwhile, i have it seperated in my special containment chamber, rubbermaid cup floating in the tank.

and this one

Also, i think i found a molted shell of a crab. the claws on the molt were dark so thats a ohes noes, right? Where can I look to attempt to find this crab?

No clues on the green thingie? It is still seperated from the tank just in case.

Now I saw this last night and thought nothing of it as i thought it was poop. Well, when I woke up this morning and looked, there was a ton of it on the rock. You guys will probably laff at me and say,"yea its poop alright and your CUC will clean it up." But I have seen that one needs to be safe and not sorry in this tank business. So when doing my water change, I sucked up as much of this crap as I could.

So without further todo,

What Is This?

Well the green thing is definitely a nudibranch.....I am just having trouble matching it with a name

I'm not sure on the type of nudi either.

As for the video, not sure, but I LOVE the commentary, "That's a lot of poop!" hahahahaha

Does it resemble this? This is the animal i was thinking of when I told you it wasn't a Nudibranch and was a Bubble Snail.

Maybe, I will have to have the wife take a look. Do either one of these species poop in concentric circles? there is something on the inside of the cup that is white, small, ballish. I cant imagine its eggs so the next logical progression is poop. But who takes the time to poop in concentric circles?

LOL at myself right now.

edit: If it is a bubble snail, oh crap

from wiki - These snails are herbivorous. Their diet consists of various kinds of green algae. They can survive in brackish water.
They are hermophroditic. Their eggs are deposited in round or oval jellylike strings, attached to eelgrass or sand.
Atys naucum and Atys cylindricum are known to show biological fluorescence.

So i think it laid eggs in my cup and they were in a spiral pattern so this leads me to believe that bang guy is correct in the bubble snail ID. I will be adding it into the tank as the little guy has to be hungry right now. I will be ditching the eggs though. It was easy to catch, once i saw it, so if anyone says to not add it, speak now or forever hold your piece until just before the end of MNF now.

any ideas on what the heck is coming out of the hole in my rock in the video?

Really? no one knows what that is coming out of the rock in the video? Not even a guess? Could it be a clam evacuating it colon?
The green snail/nudi didnt make it into the tank. the darn thing didnt want to let go of the side of the containment cup. I tried for atleast 5 minutes to gently remove it from the side but it didnt want to let go. Sad to say, it was fed into the city water department system along with its eggs. For next time, since I will be getting snails soon, How does one GENTLY remove these critters from the sides of containers and place them into the tank without harm?

I spotted a crab tonight. I didnt have the camera next to me, stoopid me, so I dont have a pic but a description. keep in mind, I found a molted shell of a crab earlier.
It looked like the classic crab shape with the smaller legs along the side and up front the claws. It was a light brown with white spots. Kinda like a sexy shrimp only lighter brown and individual white spots, not clustered on the shrimp. I moved sideways like most crabs do. It crawled back into a hole in the rock. Sure enough in the time it took for me to run and get my camera, it was gone. Looks like I will be camping out during the day to spot & campture this fella. Unless someone tells me that crabs are nocturnal and it will be a waste of my time.

Crabs are basically nocturnal, so you will probably be wasting your time. Your best bet to see it again is to wait until after the lights go out and get a flashlight.
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but most crabs that come as hitchhikers are no good. Since you found a molt already, were the tips of the claws pointed and black?

Sorry, I must have missed that post. When I'm on my phone, I miss a lot of posts because it scrolls through quickly.
Black tipped claws are no good. 90% of the time, the hitchhiker crab is a Gorilla Crab or a Xanthid, google those two and see if that's what you've got. Xanthid's come in a wide variety of colors, but their shape when they are scared is very identifiable with the species. When scared, they retract into what looks like a tiny, smooth rectangular stone.
