Actually O. Scyllarus (peacock mantis ) are very active and interactive . They Have personalities just the same as a fish If not more so . They are very interesting in that the build their den's rather than just sleep in a hole in the rocks(like fish) They actually will go out and look for suitable small rocks and shells to help build their den with . You can keep them in a nano which allows just about anybody to keep them. No need for a 200+ gallon tank . They are very colorfull . You can keep them with corals . They will except frozen foods or you can feed them live and watch them hunt it .
An honestly they are not a small lobster or a shrimp . They are called Stomatopods .
they are a far more advanced spieces then lobsters .

They are extremely interesting creatures, and like Crash said, the O. Scyllarus, which is what I have, are extremely active and interactive. I would venture to say that they have just as much if not more personality than a lot of fish. I mean, even if you were to just read this thread, it gives you an idea of just how active and how much personality one can truly have. Gingi is far from shy and certainly does not hide out. She is out and about more than not. Now our other mantis, Monty, is an N. Wennerae, and he only likes to venture half of himself outside of his home to stare back at me majority of the time. If you get the right type of mantis, they can be a lot of fun.
And I must say, Gingi and Monty would be very offended if they knew they were called a lobster
