hello all,
hi, i'm dee aka djdo111 aka better half of slice. i'm new here and though my passion for all things saltwater fish may not be as great as yours, i am still passionate--lol. slice and i have had our (his) tank for approximately 1 1/2 years now. i have always know that slice had previous experience with sw tanks and it was something he wanted to do again.
it started this time with a trip to the pet store to buy doggie supplies, i decided to look at tanks because i used to be (at least in my opinion), quite the freshwater expert. really great deals in house but slice also checked online. later that evening, we were the proud owners of a 47 g tall tank.
since then, our tank has evolved into a thing of beauty. slice does an awesome job in the upkeep--something i know very little about--but i'm learning! it's relaxing for us to look at the tank. we name everything--outside of the equipment and rock. i know we're not the only ones!!
we've had several fish and snails come and go. right now, we have a royal gramma named dottie. for those of you who have checked out slices' photos, dottie makes herself present in quite a few of them. we also have 2 fire fish, 2 cleaner shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp and lots of snails. oh yeah (duh), how could i forget the coral--so pretty!
we had a 6 line named skittles but he had to find a new home. my favorite fish so far has been herb, our blennie. he passed away and he is really missed. talk about character! i also grew fond of our emerald crabs, blue and sebastian. call me crazy, but when sebastian passed, i actually buried him in our garden..........ok, enough of the dead talk (lol).
just a little (lot) about me. slice is the main caretaker and i am an observer for the most part. hope everyone continues to have much success with your works of art!!

Welcome, Always glad to hear couples doing tanks together. My wife doesn't get into my tank much, says it starting to get pretty but why does the reef tank make so much noise. I have a hang on skimmer, some day I'll upgrade to sump and move skimmer, new stand, larger reef tank. LOL again Welcome.

Welcome to the boards! I hope you don't crash his tank, oh, and yes, you can use clorox to feed the corals.

Well, this is a "Memoirs" thread. Maybe she already crashed his tank and is trying to find a way to tell him gently? LOL!

Yeah, she is doing great, the tank will be in fine hands. It's cool being able to just sit and point "Ok do this now, do that now, check on that."

Its good, in general, for both of us to be able to maintain the tank.
