Meowzer's LED build

If the moons are on a pot for dimming it could be a bad pot or the power supply you are running the dimming circuit on, I'd check those first. Didn't realize you have the moons on a dimmer.

LOL...you guys crack me up
I HAVE A LIGHT QUESTION THOUGH....This has to do with times......When I was using the MH lights I had them (whites) come on at 3:15 and off at 8
Can (or should) I increase the time with the leds? OR should I wait until I have the lights set to where I want the look to be??????

IMO once you acclimate the tank to the LEDs I wouldn't lengthen my photo period.....Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems your questioning the strength of the LEDs
You don't need a longer photo period....Curious is you were doing a dusk to dawn photo period with your MH's.......

I still have the lights on almost the lowest setting......just touched the whites a tad this evening :)
when I had the MH lights.....the actinics come on in the a.m.....of course....LOL....I had 3 MH lights.....I had one come on first.....then the other 2.....then they would go off the same way...and actinics later
SOOOO with the leds.....the blues come on in the am.......whites at 3:15......whites off at 8.....blues off at 9:30

I wouldn't increase my photo period though.....I don't see anything wrong though with bringing your blues up first though with the LEDs as you did with your 03's.....

OK thanks......I wasn't sure ...that's why I asked

I ordered 2 more pots today....LOL...JIC the pot is bad...and it never hurts to have a spare since they are only $3 HAHA
Jameco called me about the driver, and they are supposed to have a sales tech call tomorrow......have no clue how to tell if it is bad, BUT I figure I will probably order another one anyway.....JIC...and if it works....well then we will know

It's odd, but anything seems possible....Those 60-48's are dirt cheap now though as well.....You see them all over the place with people backing out on their builds.....

Well Jameco sent me an RA#....LOL.....I still need one to replace it...so I am thinking I might just order another like I said previously.....
I AM HAPPY to report though,.....that there are things alive in the tank that I thought were dead....YAYYYY....the leds make some things fluorescent, qand I can now see the polyps
for instance, I thought my elkhorn was just a skeleton covered by fuzz...NOPE.....there are LOTS of polyps throughout it....and also my sunset monti...and also one of my acros....YAYYYY....OH ...my 2 acans that NEVER seemed to flourish are all of a sudden becoming more....hmmm...PUFFY

IDK what else to say except YIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

So Meowzer, do the colors really look that different under the led's v's the m. halides? Your pics look really nice. The ones I am used to seeing look really white with led's. What do you think you are getting 12k, 20k????

JOE....I love you too

LUV.....YES...it is amazing how different.....I also think it has to do with the color selections....remember, since we made our own we used different blues and whites......Right now it may be close to 20K because I have not turned all the blues....or whites up to their potential
MRBTLD......YES......I am amazed
Do not get me wrong.....the Metal Halides/T5's were good.....had I been able to modify colors with them....sure they would have been better....LOL.....BUT THE LEDS just make stuff glow like I never could have imagined
