I still don't know what's wrong with the controller.....so I guess it depends on that....or maybe which driver I get first

wheewww... i got it. here is what was wrong.
remember when i was on the phone with you.... you said it did count for a second or two on the timer?
the power plug that went into the controller is kind of wobbly causing a poor/incomplete connection.
i had to bend the spring inside that holds the power plug in place. from shipping i guess i had put to
much padding causing too much pressure on it because i had sent to you plugged in already.
i changed the backup battery, reprogrammed, and resoldered. i wiggled the plug and put some pressure on it
and tick tick tick.... worked again. wheeewww like i said.
it is on its way with the driver i promised. fingers crossed.
as far as your setting do you want me to preset or do you want to do so you know how to navigate it???
btw you can run the driver i send you for you moonlights.... with this controller and have the dim if you want.
sorry about this...it should have been:
rewire dimmer wires for the two channels, plug it in, and program it.

NO PROBLEM.......programming it is as simple as pushing the buttons....right???
If so....it is no biggie, I can do it when it gets here
thanks....thanks......and happy early birthday to Tommie Lynn

Do you have recent pictures somewhere reefraff?
Don't want to hijack the cat lady's thread but here are a few shots from about 4 months ago and today, color is a little weird cause not all the lights are on

Got too close on this one but you can still see where the growth is

I'll guarantee you that Meowzer has a whole lot more light than me even if they aren't running at 100%

Thanks,. I hadn't realized how much the orange monti had changed color since the last pic. The 2nd pic is pretty close to the color it is now.

Meowzer, or acrylic51, I have to ask. Did your critters need some time to get use to the new lighting? I have to ask as the wife has finally agreed that when the tax return comes in we will go LED with the LED that acrylic51 has suggested for my DIY build. Did you notice anything with the tank like levels or anything that the critters did after the new lights were put on?

When I first put the leds on I had them set at low.....and have been increasing the light intensity gradually

I wouldn't believe your critters or such would be affected by the lighting.....Being that fish and stuff can survive without lighting......I could be wrong, but don't think they are as sensitive to lighting changes.....

There are some that are sensitive to light changes at first. Anthia actually prefer lower light tanks, and their colors actually fade in brighter lit tanks. I am adding LED to my tank slowly, they don't seem to be too affected by mine so far, however, I can see them taking a little longer to acclimate under LEDs and mH right from the Store or Distributor as they probably don't have VHO lighting on swimmer tanks.

The fish tanks at stores around here don't have direct lighting over top of them. Just the shop lights so the only light systems are only over tanks with coral in them. I have a feeling that there are some fish that don't do as well in well lit tanks period. The type that normally inhabit slightly deeper waters. When ever my lights switch on or off or a certain color kicks on all of my fish react immediately. I'd think it best to always acclimate when ever making any type of lighting change or making a purchase of either a coral or new critter.

WELL......I just received the driver back from Jameco.....if I read it corrrectly it says the product tested good.....LOL....can't misread that

SOOOO....We are waiting for the other driver and controller......because.....if this driver was good all along......our next thing to suspect would have been the pot....
no clue

I went back 4 pages already and didn't see it. For the sake of my sanity can you describe to me again what exactly was happening with the leds. They lit up for a while and then cut out? Did they flicker? Or did they just not come on any more?

The ywould come on then dim...and go out......then they would come back on....and do the same....I never let it go any further than that
