it can only be purchased in big rolls online, i think its like 90 bucks. there's people who purchase the rolls and sell them in pieces to people like the guy on the

[hr]
site. it's called enkamat pf4

NgBom, is that an Octo NW-200? If it is, what exactly did you do with your OTP 3000 needlewheel?
I got greedy yesterday, and decided to clip off the top layer of the needle wheel to add more enkamat. As it seems you can't take off the needle wheel with the pins. I then put 3 layers of enkamat on and by this morning I woke up to a pump not skimming. I opened up my pump to see what was going on, and lo and behold, the bottom needlewheel I had left on to attach the enkamat to, was destroyed. Obviously it was rubbing. Do two layers work best?
I also did two more mods. Bored out the intake on the pump, and replaced the 1/4 in. venturi with 3/8 in. venturi.

the rps-3000 is the same as the nw-200 recirc
i took a 12 kitchen knife to my NW.. slid it between the 2 rows ans worked it in and around as to crack the glue ( they aare actually 2 peices) then took one off and leth one on.. then took 3 layers of pf4 and tied it on via fishing line.. ( i used a lot of fishing line.. dint want anything to rub the inside of the volute.. causing drag increasing wattage.. ( you may have done this.. burnt out your pump ) .. you shouldn't have increase the pumps input.. this will make it draw more water .. which = more resistance = more watts ..
as far as i know of.. the pf4 mod and boring out the outlet of the pump as large as you can is the other thing that produces the most results.. then the venturi... ill tear my skimmer down and take pics ...
i did a lot of mods just to mess around..only thing im missing is a better venturi...
list of mods i have done:
- enlarge outlet of pump ( it's too restrictive.. )
-pf4 ( 3 layers)
-shaved out volute ( makes it larger which is suppose to increase air intake )
-ghetto venturi
-shaved the outlet port to a smoother transition ( you will see in the pic)

the bored out fittings.. one is the ( the 90 deg elbow.. both side)

this is w/ the rubber seal in place.. to give you an idea of how much i shaved off ( i think i will shave the other end out even more though .. )

volute shaved ( dont mind the calcium build up... )

i guess i am more scared of tearing apart my pump and it not working afterward...if i had another pump that would work on it then i would do it in a heart beat

if you dont feel up to it then dont do it... thats my advice.. the skimmer work FINE as is.. just that it can work a LOT better with the right mods.. and tool.. ( all thats really needed is a dremal and kill-a-watt meter)
results of the mod/mods have been posted by many.. so it's not a myth or a false claim.. but like i said.. the mod is not a must...
