Michael Vick An Eagle???????

Vick is dangerous with the ball in his hands, I never disputed that. but being dangerous and being a good QB are 2 very completely different things. Vick was NOT a good QB. Vick could not stand in the pocket and make a sharp accurate pass if his life depended on it.

You really know nothing about football. Atlanta had a good defense and one of the best running games in the NFL. That helps a rookie. That helps any qb. Ryan didnt have to win the games. Ryan only threw like 16 tds to 11 INts. Those arent great numbers. Thats almost a turnover a game. That is hurting your team. You really have some weak responses.

but the undeniable fact of the matter is that the judge gave him a sentence and he served the sentence.
I can't really see him playing QB again unless McNabb gets hurt. I know Kolb got hurt, so maybe that's why they got him. but I can only see him as a slash receiver.
You guys are forgetting Vick isn't going to play much this year. He is still suspended basically for half the season guaranteed, and then gets reviewed again. He hasn't played a down of football for over 2 years (right?) It is going to take him a year at least to get up to speed. And lets face it, the igles are in for another year of hearing McWaahb, if he doesn't play well, this may be his last season. Just like they've been saying for the last few years. McWAAhb is on his way out, Vick has a very real chance to learn the system, and take over if the igles qb situation doesn't improve this season.

Atlanta had one of the best running games in football when Vick was there too. and many of the years he was there, the Falcons D was BETTER than what Ryan had last year. I know plenty about football. Vick was flatout overrated as a QB.

They had one of the best because he was the main running back. He broke NFL qb rushing records. So no they didnt have a great running game. They had a qb doing everything.
Also Vick wont play qb this season.

and tell anybody that Dilfer was a good NFL QB and they're probably going to laugh in your face.
Vick has been out of the league 2 years, Matt Ryan replaced Joey Harrington, nice try though. Vicks last year they were 7-9, his worst year other than rookie.

Trent Dilfer...Again, not Tom Brady, but again, started 113 games at QB in the National Football league (that's almost 8 full seasons), won more than he lost as a starter, won a Super Bowl.....I would guess he is not too embarrassed when he looks at himself in the mirror.

Vick is/was only dangerous against teams that had no defensive line. I really hope the Eagles play him. He was an early type of wildcat offense. With a whole backfield of wildcatters, you might have some success like Miami. With a poor decision-making show-boater like Vick, it'll be a mess. Defensive coordinators in the NFL have re-calibrated for the wild-cat style and the little success Vick had will already be made obsolete.

Like Crypt said, they had a great running game because of Vick, not because of TJ Duckett and Warrick Dunn...Don't get me wrong, decent running backs, but not headed for the Hall of Fame either.

I have come to see the light! Vick is one of the greatest and will take the Eagles to the Super Bowl if they get McNabb out of the way!

All he did was break rushing records in the NFL. You know. Thats not success. And he did what he did against teams in the playoffs. First qb ever to beat Green bay in Green Bay. But they had a suspect D line right?
Most of his plays were broken down and he made something from nothing. Now you line him up with a designed play. He is still one of the fastest players in the NFL. 10 yards a pop is 10 yards a pop. Nobody said it need to go for 80 every play.

Thats what the eagles signed him up to do.

your posts really aren't making any sense at all. first, you say he's not a good QB. then I say he's not a good QB and you tell me I know nothing about football. then, you say he's not going to play QB this year and then post a youtube link saying they hired him to do this...play QB. I can't even follow what argument you're trying to make.

Im sorry you are so narrow minded. I posted a video of him running designed draw plays. Dropping back and running a make shift wildcat. Im sorry your football knowledge let you think so far out of the box.

And yes, Green Bay that year won many games by 7 points or less, due to a porous def line. They depended on Farve to pull out the 4th quarter miracle. Like I said, he is the greatest and I PRAY the Eagles play him.

here's my football knowledge. it's called fact:
fact....his career QB rating is 75.7
fact.....his completion rate is 53%
fact.....he averages about 2400 yards per year passing. even with 700-900 yards rushing, that does not put him anywhere close to be a top QB
fact....he has 72 passing TDs and 51 INT
and your argument for him being a good QB is that he won ONE playoff game in Green Bay? give me a break.

Hey, I'm not saying he is the best, or certainly not as good as McNabb, but his record speaks for itself. I'm confused how a guy can go 38-28 as a starter in this league and be considered "god awful".

Uh, yeah....Terry Bradshaw the HOFer's career numbers..
Rating 70.9
Completion % 51.9
TD's....212....INT....210

Ah both of my points in one post.
Terry Bradshaw made good decisions when it counted. And he, too, benefited from an overwhelming defense. The difference is that he kept from losing the game.

there are a lot of people to this day that tell you that Bradshaw was overrated. He had an alltime great Defense, starting RB, and starting WR. but Bradshaw himself was never all that great.
BUT, he did get some rings at least. Vick hasn't been close to doing that.
so if you want to say that Vick is Bradshaw without success or likeability, go ahead, I won't argue.
