Michele Bachmann, a Republican from Minnesota, is taking Iowa by storm. Currently she is only one percentage point behind the front runner, Mitt Romney. With that said, only 12% view her unfavorably compared to Romney's 38% unfavorable rating.
With very little difference between the unimpressive presidencies of Bush and Obama, the country appears ready for real change. I'd love to see a woman get the opportunity to sit in the Oval Office.

We just tried something different electing someone with very little big time political experience. I have been impressed with Bachmann since she's gotten into the campaign but I don't see the country taking a chance on a 3 term Congresswoman from Minnesota.

IDC if you are a woman, man, black, white or GREEN......Surely there is someone out there who has the experience and qualifications that we need to run this country...
It's kinda scary when you see all the unqualified people jumping into the pot

I think we need more people in office with little or no political experience. Our country would be better for it. Obama's problem is not lack of experience, it's his uber-liberal policies. Professional politicians have caused most problems we have now. I don't think citizen politicians could do worse and would probably do a lot better.

Ron Paul is qualified. He'd be an excellent candidate if he wasn't insane.
I actually didn't see any difference between Presitent Bush ('W') and President Obama on subjects that matter to me.

Except the amount spent of course......
Inexperience has caused some of our foreign problems.......

I don't know what the deal is, the woman has served as a state and national senator. Has owned businesses, was a tax lawyer, ran a foster home, raised kids? What makes her unqualified? She didn't go to harvard? She doesn't stutter enough off the teleprompter? Doesn't mix up Medal of Honor recipients? Didn't go to a church that said, God Damn america! That is the one...

3 terms as a member of congress isn't much experience. Last Senator elected president was Kennedy. Nixon and Johnson were in Congress and the Senate respectively but each had been vice president before being elected or in Johnson's case ascending to the presidency. Typically members of Congress have no administrative experience which is why they have a hard time getting elected president. Mayors and Governors have a lot better idea of how to run things than someone who is one vote out of 100 or 436

I hate to say it, but I know absolutely nothing about her, except the dinosaur media hates her and disparages her every chance they get. So I'm assuming she is an excellent candidate.

She wants to reign in spending. Good
She wants to repeal Obamacare. Good
She opposes er is socially conservative. Good
She has been accused by moveon.org of being a religious zealot. FANTASTIC!
She does not want to raise the debt ceiling unless there are $ for $ cuts in actual spending cuts-rather than dems reducing amount of spending increase version of spending cuts. Good
So what's her down side?

It is still early and not everyone has thrown their hat in........Foreign policy experience is greatly lacking.....and while we have domestic problems foreign policy dictates much. How many traqde agreements are sitting on Obamas desk currently? During a time of economic recession one would think they wouldn't just be sitting there....foreign policy......

What is her stance on companies that hire illegal aliens?
What is her stance on the US being the World Police Force?
What is her stance on the H1-B visa program?
What is her stance on big business outsoucing jobs to Malaysia and India to avoid payroll taxes?

I don't know, nor do I really care, by the time the primaries come to texas, it will already be wrapped up, I won't get a chance...
But I couldn't answer those questions about any of the republican candidates...

Good questions. That's what I dug up on a cursory search. I'll keep my eyes and ears open. As I said, the fact the media wing of the democratics :) hate her made her appeal to me.

So far the main media attack seems to be over her taking farm subsidies. Turns out her husband's family are farmers and have received subsidies. If thats the best dirt they can dig up on her she must be a pretty good person.

Yeah, that's the issue for me. This country is bleeding jobs with the assistance of our government. In other words, the established politicians are working against us to the benefit of big business.
