Got a clam, sps frag, and a firefish. The firefish is going to my 20g at my dad's because my 10g is without a top. Pics soon.

how long should it take for the ammonia to come down when you're cycling?

Ammonia and Nitratesa re 0 and it's already cycled with live rock/sand.
Pics won't be up till Mon-Wed
Found aiptasia on my clam. :(

Are you asking this about ur tank? The ammonia thing? If it is, it varies by the tank. More isnt better, just want your tank to be able to process waste, and then bacteria will adjust to the bioload. Thats why with nanos they recommend things be added so slowly. Your other tanks at this stage, Im sure you could add a few fish right off the bat just because of the size.

I know, my 150 and 72 did this in no time... the 10g seems to be taking longer than they did.

Ugh, whyyyy did it take so long?
At least I'm in my senior year of college so I'm REALLY friggin busy and don't have much $$ because of the ridiculous prices of my books and I just bought a new car. SO. I have a LOT of time to wait. haha... it is probably better that I must wait..

Well, back when I was cycling, I didnt know anything. I went to the bait store on the way home from fishing one day, bought half a dozen bait shrimp. Were in the tank for about 2 weeks before I came on here and realized how not-a-good-idea it was.
Im getting ready to go into college, and I will soon know what you mean :]

oh yeah? what college are you going to go to? I go to Penn State... it is pretty awesome. haha.
I knew enough not to do that.. haha. I put 1 raw shrimp in... I think it is taking long because of the new rock I added, it's going to recycle.

Looks like tomorrow I get to play surgeon and scrape some aiptasia off my clam which are very near to my mantle. Kinda nervous and sure hope I don't scratch the mantle.

I'm about to aqua-scape. I figured I would check the boards before I got my hands all nasty though...
I always get nervous about the first time I do this after I get new rock because of creepy hitchhikers that could be in it.

I dont think they will eat your clam.swf says reef safe i have not had a prob.They are a type of cleaner shrimp people have skunk cleaner shrimp with clams i dont think you will have a prob.

Im going to FAU. Florida Atlantic University. Not too well known, but its starting to get competitive to get into. Glad Im getting in now or Id be stuck going the community route hah.
