OK brainiac take your colors and paper draw a stick figure . Now draw headgear on the stick figure no figure out how a rear

choke works on the stick figure with the giant head gear in the way . now draw another stick figure and put more head gear on it . Now look and see how easy it will be to trap the big giant bobble headed person in a triangle choke . If these simple moves are beyond your grasp I can walk you through what they involve .
So would you like me too keep going MR ART TEACHER ? Because I can keep giving exapmles of how your giant boxing head gear is not conducive to the sport of MMA via how it limits your manuverability allowing you to be trapped in submissions as well as taking away some of your options to end the match in a much less "bloody" manner than striking .
What, do you think it increases the size of your genatallia not to use the gear?

I am all for personal responsibility and freedom. You want to let your kids do that under those conditions go for it. Not something I would allow. I will say this. Not letting my kid do it is one thing. It is pretty fun to watch. Watching peeWee football can be a real blast but it has nothing on those kids. Some of those moves they have are sick nasty.

No wise guy not using it does not increase the size of your genatallia . Using it limits the amount of moves /holds avalible and there for takes away part of the sport . I realize you just cant get it thru your head that your uneducated and wrong on the subject . Your so intune with this subject that you wouldn't know the difference between a go-go plata and and an americana .After all they are just "sick/nasty" and requier lots of training on how to apply the move properly.
So take your crayons , your uneducated wise mouth oppinion's and your large genetalia back to the Obama bashing thread where your opinion might just make some sense .

Guess you should ask those who decided wrestlers have to wear headgear. Dunno about those martial arts gloves but I have been hit with a boxing glove which looks a lot larger and it was a lot more solid of a hit than I expected. And that was from a guy who wasn't all that great a boxer.

Its not maditory to wear headgear while wrestling . Its a very smart desicion that keeps the wrestler from developing cauliflower ear . It does absoloutly nothing to protect from strikes or slams .

This was my point in the first place. YOU, as the parent, have determined that this sport is inappropriate, too violent, too nasty, for your children. That is alright. You need to decide what is correct for your children. I loved martial arts when I was in them. I was more confident and learned how to defend myself when necesary. I think what everyone else is saying is that MMA is not a sport that has much to do with boxing. There may be some fighters who have practiced boxing as well as other martial arts, you can't compare the two and say , "Okay they did it, it must be right. MMA is not wearing head gear and they are wrong". This a completely different sport. You wouldn't wear pads in baseball because they would get in the way. Same here.

No, headgear is mandatory in collegiate, highschool and pre high school wrestling.
My mistake...I see what you meant. In any event, would be a shame to see a young kid getting cauliflower ear...it's very painful and getting it drained is no fun.

I was just cruising the net and some of the MMA event do require the headgear as well as shin pads. Looks like there is a big push to ban the kids doing it in some states.
One interesting thing I found was kids injured in sports.
Most kids are injured playing basketball/
Most serious injuries from football
Most deaths from ....... Baseball?

I would imagine from getting hit in the head with the ball or bat. It's amazing how fast those kids can throw those balls. My mother was a little league baseball umpire when I was a kid and she got hit in the inner thigh with a fast ball once. Holy c*ap!!!!! She almost had to got the emergency room. Her artery was actually damaged and she had a bruise on her femur. It was purple for months.

After reading it I can see it but yes I was surprised initially. You don't really think of baseball as a contact sport.
