Thanks all, but I had one terrible day at work and needed a pick me up. Worked too hard to have my thread die on the fourth page!!!!!!
I'll post pics of the little mandarin....although not so little now, pleasantly plump, tomorrow. Did a water change and rearranging of the coral. I like the looks, but we'll see.

Well, Friday is my usual water change day. All went well. On Saturday when I woke up my BTA which I have had since the beginning had split. I now have 2!!
The mom is the one on the left, and the new baby is on the right. My clown doesn't know which one to host....very amusing.
She seems to like the original one the best, but I guess time will tell. Enjoy the pics, these were the best I could do, due to the position of the clone. (towards the back wall)

Anonome, congrats on the split.
I'm in search for a RBTA, but would like to try and find one here in town. I'm a bit gun shy on ordering on-line since two of my Anthias were DOA.
I've since replaced them though, so I have three Anthias in QT right now.
Question about your clams: I noticed you have them on your rock. Do you have them on a rather flat part of your rock, or will they crab a hold even if it's not totally flat? I want to get a clam but I can't put him on my sand because my Goby will give him a sand bath.
My open brain does ok with the sand, as it does get blown off from the current, but I don't think the clam would like it.

Azfishgal....the clams are sitting on lace rock....totally love this rock for things like small zoa's and clams. With all the nooks and crannies the clam easily fits comfortably, and securely into one of the nooks. My clams are crocea's that reguire rockwork to attach to. It doesn't take long for them to attach to the rock if put in flow, but not too much, and plenty of light. This rock works great for that!
Here is another pic to show the rock, and one of my clams. The green star polyps are on the other part of rock. Since this pic was taken the stars have really multiplied. Hope this helps you.

Update on my reef.....well my red brain with hole in the middle did die. Very upsetting, it seemed like it was doing good, then overnight it melted. It caused a real mess in the tank, major water changes later the tank is thankfully doing good.
Nothing else was lost.
Here is a pic of my new large polyp plate coral, to take the place of the red brain.
Can't have an empty spot.

And a few other pics to enjoy. Take care!!

Great pics, love the clown! What is the coral name of the first picture (of your last post)? Is it an easy coral?

Thanks azfishgal...It is a flower pot, or daisy coral. The "alveopora catalai" . Not a easy coral at all, I bought it last week end from someone thinning their reef tank. She claimed to have had it for almost 2 years?
Her tank was outstanding though, so took the chance. Not very sure on this because their longevity is poor......but the alveopora is better than the goniopora. The price was definately right. So I will try.
This one has 12 "petals" per say, the goniopora has 24. This is how you can tell them apart. I am not expecting a lot out of this coral, but my water is very good, and no coral pickers. So wish me luck.
Sure is a beauty though isn't it? It takes very well to the black powder, so I am hoping it does well.

Oh man, that's what I was afraid of. Every time I see a picture of the flower pot I really want one, but was told by my lfs that they are very hard to keep.
I hope yours does well.
First time I've heard the name "daisy" for them, which makes sense that I like them so much, as Daisy is my favorite flower.

I hear you there, my favorite is the daisy or anything that looks like a daisy. This coral I got for $25 so I figure the chance is worth taking. It is doing awesome since the dip. I don't know if you saw my other thread on dipping corals? It was completely covered with flatworms, not a horrible hitchiker, they eat slime off of coral, but one that multiplies very quickly in a reef tank. This is why way back when I decided that a 5 minute dip in Seachem reef dip is the best insurance policy one can have. It was amazing how many flatworms where erradicated that night. Kind of sad, but they are like rabbits once introduced to "the all night buffet."

Don't laugh, but I use Seltzer water. Last zoo frag I dipped a flatworm came shooting out so fast it scared me.

your tank is beautiful!

I hope when I get my bigger tank it looks that good.
Questions:
What is your stock list?
Do you have a sump?
If you dont have a sump how many filters do you have?
