You either have a water level problem in the sections where the return pump is, in that case add water until it stops, or you have a hose connection to the part that outputs the water to the display in which case inspect that connection. It has to be pulling air into the return somwhere.

The ammonia was probably from detritus on the rockwork getting stirred up when putting it in the tank. It is good that it is gone now, but I would still ghost feed for a week and keep an eye on the readings. Seems like you are gonna be okay to start adding things slowly after about a week to me. But the truth is in the testing.

Nah I think a normal lighting schedule shouldn't hurt anything, What is on the rock that came over from the other tank?

oh some micro algae, some coral line..my zoas didnt get a chance to grow that much over the rock. i think some mini serpent stars(brittle stars?) and some other mini star fish were also on the rock. i can see one type on my glass right now.

i have a really small zoa frag in my hex right now. it maybe has 3 heads. the smallest of my 20+ morph group.
should I add it to the nano and see what happens? or is that a stupid thing to do

Hey, here is a drawing I drew of how my 28 gallon HQI nano cube looks like in the back chambers. The green is chaeto and the brown is LR rubble. I also had a micro bubble problem in the beginning, but I don't any more.
I added a light in the back for the chaeto.

You don't really need a skimmer. Just add some micro algae in the back and do 15% water changes every week and your good to go!
Especially if its going to be a Softie/Leather/Zoa tank.

When I did my move it was from a 40 well established to a new 75gal. I "spiked" the sand bed by adding new sand to the 75 first , then I scooped out sand from the 40 and just covered the top of the new sand. I think if you stir up the old sand too much and add it to the new tank you get trite problems
Due to the fact that all of stuff settles to the bottom and you can really Vacc. sand as good as CC. I then used all the water from the 40 and all the LR ( about 60-70lbs) topped off the water with new SW that I had mixed the day before. I did this all in a couple hours and transferred all the live stock at the same time. I did loose 1 birds nest frag , but don't really know if the change was the prob or not. I would wait a little bit if you can and check your water allot before adding the live stock JMO, Keep us posted

i am getting an expensive surge protector 2m, idc how much it costs. i cant take this crap. i went thru 2 surge protectors today, 2 last month and 1 in september. i figured out what i was doing wrong, i didnt create a drip loop effect. im such an idiot. i should be fine now, but to play it safe i am buying new sp's 2m.
i took a frag of zoas from my hex and placed it in the nano. lets see if it opens up 2m. if it does, great success(borat tone)!

GFCI would stop any chance of a fire. once the outlet dectects water near the outlet it will trip until you pix the problem. + the loop should be on every cord
