My 55 Gallon Thread

Does your lmb eat prepared foods. I couldn't get mine to eat anything prepared. He won't even eat dried sea weed. So I cant keep my tank too clean or he will starve. He starts every morning with a sunk in belly and ends every night looking like a balloon. He also defecates the size of a small bear. But he has so much personality I wouldn't want to be without him. He takes about a dozen bites off the rocks, sand, or snails/hermits shells, and then goes and kicks his own butt in the glass reflection for 3 or 4 minutes and then the cycle continues. Yours is also very dark, does he lighten up or stay that dark?

Lol, thats funny. Mine gets dark once the light comes on and light during the night. It isn't eating prepared foods yet. I don't know if it ever will. I have had him for 2 days now. He eats algae off the glass mainly. And I currently have A LOT of algae for him to eat. Lol. He picks algae off the rocks for about 5 minutes and then goes into a crevice and hides for a minute then goes right back to eating. Sounds kinda like yours.

My LMB is a PIG! He eats everything he can find. Havent seen him eat any meaty foods. He does compete with the Tang on the algae sheets I hang in the tank. Now thats funny. Lots of personality with this fish. Your gonna love yours. Good thing you thought ahead and grew all that algae in your tank.

LOL, You know what....I woke up this morning and there was only 1 spot of cyano on the sand. I almost passed out! My tank looks amazing. I don't know what happened. Just luck I guess. Hopefully it doesn't run out (my luck). I just pray that when I get home it isn't all over the place again. Ugh, it's so ugly and irritating. I think I got the upperhand for the time being.

This thread is going to split before long and you only have 2 fish and a nice farm of cayno!

Glad to hear on the cayno. I am growing some back just so I can have something to do.

Your clown looks a little bit snobbish in that picture. Kinda scowling at the camera. Someone should tell him it takes more muscles to frown than to smile.

Wow that is so funny I got an lmb too. Been battling the same crap in my tank. Blenny is helping but I still have to trim some times. Emerald crab on the other hand is rocking that algae down. Lost my clown but got a really nice pulsing xenia or however you spell it.

Don't you just love you LMB? They are so cool. I wish my emeral crab survived. I may need to buy another one. I only saw my crab once before it died. lol. Sorry to hear about your clown. Are you going to try another one?

Are you sure it died and didn't molt?
well, I am assuming it died since I have never ever seen it in the 2 months it has been in my tank. I am guessing there is a chance it can still be alive and just a very very good hider. I mean, I have hunted in the tank for that thing at night with a flashlight every night. I have never seen it.
