Rock,
Yeah I guess I got a good deal on it. I'd seen it online for about 80 bucks like you said. Oky doky checked it this morning and all is running beautiful. I just don't like the bubbles when it comes out and hits the top of the water. They do dissipate though. Do you get any bubbles when she flows over the box into the tank? Let me know

i did a wet run today and i had a lil sand blowing around so i did another mod. i cut a new piece from the basket down so it would fit. i glue'd it rigth below the output area so when the water comes out it will help divert the water from blowing directly on the sand. i will have to do a wet run tomorrow and see how it works and go from there.

Hey Rock,
Boy are you determined!
I am also to get it modified. Anyhow here are some pics of my 75. I put a background after all this time so you don't see all the wires and filters
in the back. Also you can see my filter setup under the tank with the skimmer hanging on the sump.
Let us know how you make out with the mod. Thats what I am afraid of the sand blowing all over. Oky doky enjoy the pics and keep on with your project!

Same problem on the sand in the motor here. If I am looking correctly that overflow you have it not protecting the bottom where the water spits out, is there a way that the sand can come in there or is that not likely?

Ok ladies and gent's, here is a newest update. i just did a wet run on my refugium from the mod i did last night to help with the sand blowing problem. I was testing the U shaped piece under the output from the motor area. The U shaped piece helped a lot but still was blowing sand a very lil bit. The U shape piece is about 1” long. So i stuck two very small piece of rock (shorter than the out put as shown in second pic) in the base of the refugium on top of the sand in the middle of the U shape(As you can see from the first pic). I put the Thermometer in the overflow chamber so I wouldn’t have to have it in my tank. (As shown in the 3rd pic, I used different rocks than in this pic) I know the sand bed is not deep, but it works. And now it works fine.
I got some rocks in there for the pods to crawl on and i got that crappy lettuce stuff til i get cheato. I will move the refugium to the back tomorrow. I had it on the front for observation and pics. But here are the pics and hope you enjoy. You got any questions feel free to ask. if i don't know someone else will be able to help.

Hey,
The setup looks good! Oh that is my green bird wrasse. I have him a year already. He is a monster!
Also here is a yellow coris wrasse also a year old and a new false percula clown and a purple pseudo. I also have 3 marine catfish for like 6 months. They have a venoumous spine. I am running both the sump and the 110. The water is so crystal clear. I am going to take the 110 apart and do the mod from your pics tomorrow night. Oky doky keep us posted!
Thanks,
Triggs

here is a pic of what i got the only thing i worry about is where the skimmer thing is made into it. bc i could take the clear tube out where the bubbles go to collect the stuff but there is the the black thing where the skilter thing is hooked up as in the last pic.

yeah, from the pics thats all that really needs to be done. if i were you i would but a wall where the intake tube leads down to the motor to help with back flow. also pending on how powerful your motor is you could block off the other chamber so you just use the first chamber. i don't have much experience with these. also if you wanted to put a layer of sand in there i would put something under the motor output so the water doesn't blow directly on the sand causeing a mini sandstorm. also i would glue two small egg crate pieces to where the water actually flows out of the filter to make sure it stays in.

what about the black thing that comes from the motor into the tube for the bubbles (skimmer) i know i would take the tube off but that still leaves the round black thing coming from the motor ? that blows air out or is the motor out take ur talking about?

in the last pic there is a blk tube coming from the motor inside the filter its self. the first couple of pics you cant see it bc the clear thing that is for the skimmer is in there connected to it.
