this is my tank. i have a coral, an emerald crab, and an arrow crab. the third pic is of the free mushroom i got with my rock. i was wondering if anybody thought my arrow crab will mess with the coral.
i plan on adding and anemone and some coral frags and one fish. i am open to suggestions, help, comments, or critisism. thanks for looking!

Nice looking tank clean no algae. I would think twice about the anemone I have a 20g long and to over half the tank and was stinging my coral, had to give it away. A six wrasse is perfect for a reef tank but they like to jump you will need a lid or egg crate. As for the arrow crab mine never bothered my coral.

cool! thanx for the help! maybe i will just stick to corals in this small tank. i'm starting up a 55 gal in a few weeks. i can put anemones in that one.
i had alot of algae on my live rock until i put the emerald crab in there. he is such a pig!

That's a nice bubble....remember that they have sweeper (whatever they are called) tentacles, so you have to keep things at a distance from it

thanx! its on the ground right now because it's base is shaped all funny. i'll need to glue it down to a rock. will it hurt any other corals? does it need to be in a corner somewhere by itself? that seems kinda lonely for the poor thing. lol

LOL....I doubt it's lonely.....I just know that at night it lets tentacles out that will sting ANYTHING by it...so it needs to be far anough away from anything so it can't sting it

ohhh. i saw that it went all spikey at night. if i touch it will it sting me too? like hurt kind of sting? maybe thats why my arrow crab stays away at night but picks at the ground around it in the day.

Nice tank I wish I could keep mine that clean
its only been up for 2 months. i assume that it hasn't had time to grow that much algae or anything. plus my greedy emerald crab tends to mow everything over before it has a chance to grow. thanks for the complement though!

so i'm starting up my 55 gal for my b-day in a few weeks and i want to know what the best filtration system is for it. i dont have alot of room in the cabinet below the tank and i'm on a budget (just like everybody else). i was thinking of building a wet/dry filter or a refugium to fit. but i dont know what a refugium is for, what it consists of, or even if i need one. plus i'm not sure but can i do both? hmmmm...... suggestions anybody? i'm really new at this. if you nottice my 10 gal is running off of a hang-off-the-back filter! i want my big tank to be budget frendly but also something to brag about.

thanks! its a coralife. it came in a red box..

i'm not sure, i went to the lfs and told the guy what i want to keep and how big my tank is and he handed me the one i needed. if i remember correctly it is like 35 watts or something? he said that with the light i have on my small little tank is more than good enought to put whatever i want under it. i just need to get a powerhead this weekend to be able to broaden my selection.

Just a heads up, i too once had an emerald crab until one day i noticed something was eating my mushroom coral. It was the crab making a feast out of it. Maybe it was just mine, but i would keep an eye out for it. Nice tank by the way.

I had a rogue emerald as well. Be sure he is spot fed or something since you don't have a great deal of algae

I suspect you have PC lights if it is a coralife fixture.
