A perc a firefish and a goby?
Not really. They will all stay small. 3 fish max. The goby doesnt hardly leave his rockwork.
The firefish and perc are midlevel swimmers.
I do religous weekly waterchanges so Im not really worried about water conditions.

Ok I finally got a pic of my little buddy. The firefish has been moved to the hospital. He had Ich. He is much better and is in hypo. He should be coming home soon. I had to dismantle the entire rockwork to get him out!
AND as I was putting all the rocks back I got stung by a bristleworm

WOW that did not feel good. That was my first time getting stung. I dont want to do it again.:nope:
So here are the "redone" rocks.

Well the tank was a present but I know it was 139.99

Livestock- Yashia 10.99
Perc- came from my other tank
Firefish 12.99
Queen 4.99

Assorted hermits 1.99ea
Assorted snails 1.99ea

Oh yeah, the filtration is 3 compartments. First is 2 sponges, poly filter and a purigen bag
Second is filled with live rock and macro algaes
Third has the heater and the original pump which will be replaced with a 606 pretty soon

ok cool. do you happen to know where i could get one of these online? they dont have them at my lfs. what is a 606? sorry for all the questions, but you have gotten me really interested in this and im kinda trying to mimic yours.

Mine came from a very popular auction site.
The 606 is a Mini-Jet 606 submersiable pump. The flow out of the stock pump is a bit weak for me and I have heard that there are some problems with some of the sotck pumps.
You could easliy put carbon in any of the compartments
The macros I have are Caulerpa,Cheatomorpha and Halimeda
I bought the Eheim, Ebo and TimeTemp from a Marine Depot or something like that... hint hint
I dont think it needs a skimmer. I do weekly water changes
Also there is a mod you can do to the intake that is supposed to create a skimming effect.

thank you for all the info. do the micros need anything special to live? like light or food? basically what do you have to do to keep them alive. do you think they make a difference? ithink i get what you are saying about the marine depot lol. they have lots of PET stuff.

Well I dont do anything really. They have been in there 3 weeks now and so far so good. I do know that they do like Iron so I may start dosing with that. From what I understand macros are filter feeders.
They get light from my main lights during the day
I havent seen any bad algaes yet and that is what I am trying to avoid. I HATE HAIR ALGAE!!
I bought a couple of light diffusers from the same place I got my moonlight parts from.
I like the diffused look better. The light is more even instead of spotlights.
I will get a pic tomorrow of the improved moonlight.

one more thing, well actually two. when this whole system is running, does it make a lot of noise? if so how loud and do you think i would be able to get to sleep with it on my dresser? snd question, if i got the classic instead of the deluxe, would i still be able to keep softies with that lighting?

I think I would opt for the deluxe. The price difference is well worth it.
I have my tank about 2' from my bed and I dont hear it:yes:
