My New Refugium

Do you mind my asking where you purchased the refugium? I would like to start researching this kind of set up myself.

Hey Joe I need help...I am preparing water to do a water change...tomorrow night or Sat..morning....This will be my first change since the sump...do I have to do anything different?

Yes when you turn off the return pump make sure your water level is ok in the refug (not over flowing) and this time make sure THE WATER GETS ON THE TANK

Cheato does not “root” that’s why it likes to tumble and that is why I like caulerpa but to answer your question. Yes get some more Cheato

OK, what's in there is 2 "handfulls" as they call it....for some reason I thought it would look like more...but it looks empty doesn't it?

Ok in a rare moment of clarity. You introduce Cheato into your tank as a higher form of algae. With these algae you can harvest and export nitrates. You are at zero nitrates leave well enough alone. Stick with the Cheato you have
