OK, I have it done...my new refugium...Pics are attached.
One question: I have been told to run the light opposite of my display....If I run the light from midnight til 5 a.m. is that enough light time?
I have very little chaeto...I will be getting more.
Tell me what you think...(be nice though I'm trying)

that's cool, but I think you need to put that light closer to your algae. Doesn't seem like it is bright enough down there.

OK, moved the light closer....maybe I should get a stronger bulb? Also...what about the time the light stays on for? Any answer to that question?

13watt cfl.....the economical ones...you know they are supposed to have the light of 60w
Those should be fine, you have a shallow fuge too so it doesn't have to penitrate through too much water.

I was told that wasn't enough, but I'm not sure I trust that advice.
As far as timing goes, I run my fuge lights opposite my DT, with a one hour buffer in between on each end.

My MH lights go out at 8:30 p.m. My actinics go out at 10 p.m. I set my fuge light to come on at 10, and go off at 7 a.m.....Should that be ok?

Ok its way past cocktail time so bear with me. When you shut your sump pump down how far up in your sump does the water go? Keep adding water until you fee comfortable that it will not over flow I think you can use some more water. Also go with caulerpa I will tell you all the pros to it if you want just pm me also you can keep your refug lighnt on 24/7 place some bio balls above the blue filter block

OK, just unplugged pump to test the level....I know you can't read the words in the pic, but the level rose to the second row of words from top...Therefore, I should be able to add more water...How much more do you think I need???
Bio balls above blue foam...are you talking on the right side?...that is the side the pump is on...I'll p.m. you about the other thing

Ok a moment of clarity. The more water you can add to your system the better. All you are conserned with is that you do not overflow your sump when you shut down your pump. Turn off you pump see the level add some salt water. Turn off your pump and check again if it looks like you are going to overflow with your pump off turn it on and take out some water check again until you feel sure if your pumps fail you will not overflow. That is the total volume of water you want in your system

AHHHH...OK, it's just that on the pump side it has a minimum line and a maximum line....sooooo of course I ws trying to keep my water close to max...It is actually over the max line cause of the size of pump and need to keep water over pump....I'll add more now that I know what you are saying...

About 3 1/2" from the top on the pump side...if you look at the pics, that side is a lot lower than the middle and left sides
