I hate when I come home and the corals aren't looking happy. My duncans haven't been looking stellar lately so I tested everything last night. The first thing I tested was the salinity and it came up 1.035 which shocked me. So I tested it two more times and it came back normal. It then hit me that I was using the medicine dropper (for extracting the water to test) for testing some changing water and it must have gotten some salt build up in it. I went ahead and tested the RO water and it got a salinity reading of 0 so it appears to be calibrated correctly.
I then tested everything else and only the alk was low. My alk is what I am always having to dose the most of. I went ahead and changed the pura pad and polyfilter too and added alk this morning. Hopefully, I will come home to a happier tank tonight.

UPDATE.....The bubble coral is bubbling, the shrooms are shrooming, anemones are out...the zoas are open more then yesterday, but not 100%, my 3 leathers are still looking bad, clams seem to be ok, shrimp and fish are excellent, starfish are fine, galaxia is not fully out, gsp is not open, sps????? the birdsnest and orange digitata don't look as "colored", the montis, elkhorn, pink damicornis, and acro all look ok
SO....My water is just about made...and I think by late this afternoon it should be mixed enough......so I guess I will do a 40G w/c this evening

Crap lady its like a soap opera with you. First Lucy finds love and they are all doing great until they find that Lucy's new boyfriend has a brain tumor and will have to have surgery where he then ends up in a coma only to come out of it but then he lost his memory........ geesh!

Jking. Hope all is back or moving back to normal. I dont know what goes on in my tank but my leathers must be female. Bout once a month they are really unhappy and they affect everything in the tank. <-----did I say that or think that out loud???????

Well my w/c has been put off till later tonight :( I had some other things going on today...LOL....making soup and stuff like that

and I am really running behind.....If I'm lucky we will eat in an hour...not the soup..LOL....I made a small prime rib....first time ever
I hope it comes out ok.i'm starving

Do you think the leathers are just in that funky stage. I dont know what to call it but from time to time mine just get all mad and do the slime thing. My toadstool is doing it now but everyone else is pretty happy.

But all of them...at the same time......IDK...
The toadstool leather has like 3 polyps out...LOL....I guess it's a start

One other thing I noticed....My frogspawn is almost transparent...but full
