hey whisk i was able to cut the food.. i cut it into 4 peaices and gave him about 1/4 of the cube..
i feel as the shrimp is TOO big for his mouth.. he gets it into his mouth and then spits it out.. and goes after them chases it and then doesn't really do much about it.. even when small peaices fly by his mouth hell barley touch it.. id say he ate a total of maybe 1 full shrimp at most with the small pieces that he got (if that).. i have been able to maintain my water to 78 degrees finally today .. so im excited about that.. lol
hey i cant start to add coral since i just added him huh.. "1 item per week".. so if i get a little rock full of polyps i cant add anything else?.. weakkkkk! I want to get a bubble coral very soon.
any1 have any experience with the lighting i have (regular nano-cube delux) setup how long my coral will take to double in size?... i have great flow in the tank...

grats on cutting the frozen cube, lol. If he's not eating much, you can try even cutting it smaller.
Maybe your clown isnt a fan of brine shrimp? or maybe prefers live? Did you get the variety frozen pack? maybe try a different type? these are definitely some answers you will learn with experience with fatboy.

oh, and how were you able to maintain your temp? what did you do differently?
I have to admit, it's hard not wanting to buy a bunch of new and cool goodies. But better to take it slow and steady. Gives ya something to look forward to anyways

Couple things. First is water changes are something that she be done weekly, regardless of how the water looks. Second, brine shrimp should not be used as the only food you feed. When they are dead(frozen) they don't have any nutritional value. Pick up some mysis and some formula a, or a good flake food suck as ocean nutrtion. Brine shrimp can be used as a snack, but again has no nutritional value. HTH

Also if your clown is still being picky, seachem makes a product I think it is called entice. It is to get finicky eaters to eat. The other way is to go to the grocery store and buy a fresh garlic clove. If you smush it together, juice will come out. You can then squeeze this juice over your food, that you are about to feed. Both of these ways are proven to get finicky fish to eat, personally though I wouldn't worry yet. Probably just getting acclimated.

My clowns didnt eat much for almost a week, so im sure once he gets used to his beautiful new home he will eat like a pig. Try mysis shrimp, fatboy will love it, also formula 1 frozen food is good
i think 2g water changes would work perfect for ya

Lol, that "stem" is where the feather duster retreats to when it feels threatened. They are necessary. But you can certainly bury it

haha theyre so ugly!.. lolll
but yeah the LFS said "use clean siccors if you want to cut it"... lol.. i guess ill just bury it.. but i wanted to have it on a rock =[ .. lol its okie..
2g water changes everyday i guess will do then.. whats cool is i havent had any evaporation problems . ever since ive started my tank which has been about 1month now i have not topped the water off and it seems to be doing fine.
anyhow.. my neeemoo is tinyyy.. imwondering if i should leave him alone and have him get bigger before i add another one.. i was hopping i could get him big enough and add a small tiny black one so they wouldnt fight eachother but i guess that wont work..
should i buy 1 more clown THENNNNN start stocking this badboy up with some corals..?
i think im going to add a few corals and leave fat boy to grow a bit... really thinking about a frogspawn for my fist coral.

i would do 2g waterchanges every week, not day. hehe and for your 1sr coral i wouldnt do a frogspawn 1st, more like a mushroom or zoas of some sort

Yeah 2 gallon a week is fine. I do 2.5 gallons/week but my tank is a tad bigger. As for the feather duster, you will want to keep him on the sand, as that is what he will build his tube with
I also agree that zoas or mushrooms are a good beginner coral. Frogspawn sometimes can be a bit tricky for people. This way you can make sure all your parameters are in line especially calcium before you start adding lps. One more thing, I don't understand how you have not had any evaporation. Have you checked your salinity? and what are you checking it with. I top off every other day, not much maybe a pint or so, but you would definitely have some evaporation.

haha sorry about the typo.. i meant week, not DAY.. lolllll
as far as salinity goes, i have checked it once with my friends hydrometer as i had not bought one for my self yet.. but yeah the water seems fine?.. i duno .. i guess i will be getting my refractometer soon..
i have no idea what my calcium and stuff is at.

You should get a refractometer before you get anything else. Having it out of whack can kill your fish. Should only be about $40 online. I would also pick up a calcium test and also alkalinity before adding coral
