Yeah I've read the same thing you shouldn't vac the sand or stir it up just let it be and let your CUC do the work, such as Nass. Snails.

yup, no vac for me. For water changes i just stick an empty water jug in the tank til it fill and dump it. Easy enough hehe

same here.
Ronnie, you still have that link I sent you for the refractometer? Get it! Also, you can start testing for calcium, hardness and such with some test kits. I'm currently using an API Master Reef Kit and its been working fine for me. I would recommend getting the kit and the refractometer first before you get corals.
Glad your clown decided to finally eat. What does he like best?

Just fill up a cup of tank water and bring it in.

Try to get it out if you can, but if you cant, I think you will be alright. The bacteria in your tank will eat up any ammonia it produces. If its in a hard place, will your turkey baster reach it? Try sucking it up with it instead of blowing.
As for your water, I do pretty much the same thing and I currently use premix from the LFS for now. I do have an airstone/airpump just to keep the water moving and mixed. I plan on adding a heater soon as well.
My plan is to eventually mix my own salt and water and is usually recommended by most people, I'm just taking one step at a time.
Do you have any plans to mix your own water in the future?

to be honest, not really.. my LFS is riiiiiiiiiight down the street and with only 2 gal water changes.. i can fill up my 5gal for like what 4$?.. lasts me a month if i do a water change every other week... $1 a week for premixed ready to go water. Cant be beat.
i was just a little worried of it sitting there, i guess i can just shake it up if anything before pouring into tank no?

Dont have an honest answer about giving it a shake up before pouring into the tank.
You can find a cheap airpump and airstone for less than $7 and just throw it into the bucket. Keeps the water circulating and aerated.
